He was a sophomore studying marketing. Eight months later his app has 200,000 downloads and is closing in on $1 million in total revenue. ๐
FULL INTERVIEW
Cedric Roberge (@Cedric_Roberge), founder of Pep AI
Cedric is 23. He studies marketing, not computer science. He has never written a line of code.
He launched Pep AI in February. Still bootstrapped. Team of five.
He built it in a week and a half, on a Chromebook.
"I was able to do all of it with nothing from Apple, no MacBook."
I grabbed Cedric for a walk through Times Square at the RevenueCat Shipaton demo day to get the whole story.
We cover:
โบ Why peptides: he watched the category boom online and bet he could market it
โบ 20,000 downloads in month one, 80,000 by month three, almost entirely creator codes and UGC
โบ The "push to App Store" button that turned a two-year dream into a two-week build
โบ Why he is keeping the team at five, and the $500 Mac Mini that works like a sixth employee
โบ Two founders who took his advice and are now doing $80K and $50K a month
โบ One year ago he was pitching his first app from a folding table on campus. Now he is demoing his second in Times Square.

Demoing my app HuHuu in Times Square yesterday was unreal ๐
6 months ago, it was just a hackathon prototype. Yesterday, I demoed it to a 7yo kid, a woman in her 70s, local devs, and the Big Bus crew working the square.
Reminded me why I build: real software for real people.
Huge thanks to @Replit, @Franciscocrz , and @MannyBernabe for backing early builders from day 1, and @RevenueCat for hosting in NYC!
Also... super excited to share that I'm officially a Replit Ambassador! ๐
Time to help more builders go 0 -> 1.

This right here. This is why @Replit is my go to when creating applications and websites for clients or for my own entertainment. Thanks folks! @MannyBernabe @raymmar

You now have an on-call engineer right in your pocket.
Replit Monitoring Agent can see, fix, and deploy changes autonomously. It detects production issues, investigates the cause, validates a fix, and can publish it automatically.
Andrea Leang and Josh McFarlin from the team that built it are joining us to talk about it.

Going live today with Jon Cheney (@CheneyPiano).
He was quoted $105K to build his startup. He built it himself on Replit for $400. First customer in 5 days. 18 months later, GenAIPI was valued at $20M.
Now he helps companies put AI to work. Today he's opening the books.

The new trend of security vulnerability acceleration is only going to continue.
Read how we worked the past two days to mitigate, patch, and defend users.
The only path forward is proactive defensive measures that use AI. It's a big area of investment, more to share soon.

The rate at which vulnerabilities are discovered will only go up. @Replit has been able to mitigate most of them at the firewall level and wasn't even affected by the Linux kernel vulnerabilities thanks to our minimal config.
Extremely proud of the team's response all this week.
