BREAKING: The NLRB has ruled that if bosses commit unfair labor practices in the run-up to a union election then the election will be canceled and the Board will order the employer to immediately recognize and bargain with the union. Union-busting just got a lot harder.

It’s time to talk about union busting: @CodeforAmerica leadership has unilaterally stripped our colleagues of union protections and canceled negotiations. Stand with workers and sign onto our petition: bit.ly/cfawu-solidarity ✊

The @NLRB was established to provide a much-needed support for worker rights against corporate political interests, and we’re glad to see it repaired after Trump and Robb’s undermining of its mission.

@Mapbox's actions reveal that @Mapbox, like other image-conscious corporations, discretely aligns with far-right politics when they serve its interest in hoarding money and power to silence critical voices.

In all seriousness, #Mapbox brands itself as a socially conscious, progressive organization. Employees donate time on projects combating racism, climate change, and other social inequities. Unfortunately, these actions paint a different picture.

Ironically, #Mapbox tried to defend their harsh severance agreements by claiming that Robb’s rulings should still stand since he had been “improperly” fired by President Biden. A real #NotMyPresident moment for Mapbox.

When @Mapbox illegally fired MWU organizers, they issued such severance agreements. The @NLRB has recognized as illegal and struck the relevant sections. You can see full releases from our NLRB case here: bit.ly/41jWynC

🧵The @NLRB under @NRLBGC Jennifer Abruzzo is working to restore worker’s rights that were slashed during the leadership of Trump-appointee Peter Robb. Robb’s career was spent prosecuting workers and representing employers. bit.ly/3xHDvGf

We're glad to see this Trump-era switch reversed. It's a good day for accountability for companies and justice for fired workers.
Today, the Board issued a decision in McLaren Macomb, returning to longstanding precedent holding that employers may not offer employees severance agreements that require employees to broadly waive their rights under the National Labor Relations Act. nlrb.gov/news-outreach/news-…

Solidarity with the striking workers at @Google contractor @Cognizant!
All workers have the right to unionize without fear of retaliation. That's why we're proud to stand with the striking YouTube Music workers of @AlphabetWorkers. @Google & @Cognizant must meet with @AlphabetWorkers to negotiate fair working conditions—including RTO!

Workers with the @AlphabetWorkers union and the @ZeniMaxWorkers union at Microsoft tell me that the mass layoffs have been a huge, galvanizing event. Interest in organizing has never been higher, and this time, there's infrastructure in place to lend support & solidarity.

The big tech layoffs aren't about "economic realities" or simply streamlining operations—Silicon Valley is moving to slash rising wages and bring an increasingly empowered workforce to heel. My 1st column for @latimes: latimes.com/business/technol…

Layoffs may be the hippest trend in tech, but solidarity is forever. ✊

Here’s what @Mapbox has done since laying off 65 workers without notice: 1) Announced layoffs in a 15-minute scripted all-hands 2) Made LinkedIn announcements burying updates from fired employees 3) @ericg hit 'like' on Twitter when other companies shared roles for those fired

We're putting together a guide to help our colleagues and others who have suddenly lost work. In these first two sections, we address finding healthcare and filing for unemployment. We're hard at work on this with more coming soon! github.com/MapboxWorkersUnio…
