Cheers to Joy Upshaw, who is one of the top USA Track & Field certified coaches in the world.
She's a fierce competitor herself, won dozens of world championships, & set many age group records.
Looking forward to watching her compete in more National Senior Games!
I spent the morning with broadcasting legend, @DickieV. It’s been a tough year for the 83-yr-old: multiple surgeries for melanoma, 6 rounds of chemo for lymphoma, and vocal cord surgery. He’s now cancer free and after months of not being able to talk he’s got a lot to say.

Life is about learning, and the last great task is learning how to grow older. Here’s lesson #1: It’s not about changing what is. it’s about finding the power and the possibility in what is. @growingbolder
We need to eliminate age as a primary consideration in how we treat, train, and educate older adults. Age is no longer an accurate or effective predictor of our ability to learn, improve or recover.
Now is not the time to retire from life. This is not the beginning of the end. It’s the beginning of what’s next.

Breaking News: A technicality with a timing system test could keep Julia Hawkins' world record the 105-year old age group from being certified. @growingbolder

At the gate in Cleveland lined up to begin boarding when Southwest canceled the flight at the last moment. Had they canceled 15 minutes earlier we could’ve made another flights. Now we’re stuck in Cleveland for another day. My opinion of Southwest has changed dramatically.

Phil Michelson, 51 in June, has become the oldest golfer in history to win a major championship. "I just believed that it was possible. I hope others find that inspiration. It might take a little extra work to maintain physically or maintain the skills but it's worth it."
