29 years ago today, O.C. released “Jewelz” on PayDay Records.
trying to pick a standout album from D.I.T.C. is no easy task, even for the most astute 90s hip-hop aficionado: Funky Technician, Return of the Funky Man, Stunts, Blunts & Hip Hop, Word...Life, Runaway Slave, Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous, Jealous One’s Envy, Goodfellas…
Jewelz picks up where Word…Life left off. flawless production and Mush is a master craftsman. O may not have pushed comparable units relative to hip-hop’s commercial heavyweights, the quality of his sophomore LP matches, if not supersedes, nearly all of his contemporaries.
