The miners didn’t just ignore BIP-110. They publicly demonstrated that node consensus is optional when money is on the line. What’s running on the heaviest chain now isn’t Bitcoin. It’s a permissioned database with a marketing department.

Just to be perfectly clear: I am against this. I think we should let the long CBM expire in a week and move on, focus on building back what we lost. But it's not my decision, and the Bitcoin community seems to clearly support it, so I will accept it.

BIP-110 was supposed to keep files off XBT. A tool called BPUB hides them in fake public keys inside multisig scripts instead. 2,113 file transactions in the first ten weeks. Six Knots fixes are proposed. None merged. After the coinbase lock, this is the next fight.

The 180-day rolling coinbase lock is now in a build you can run. Knots 29.4.3rc2, a community test build, swaps the one-year lock for #468 and turns on the BPUB spam filter by default. @MarcanoFilms is already running it on mainnet. Not official yet. 1,437 blocks to go.
