My brother was creative, fun, caring and kind. He also lived with schizophrenia. I'm constantly struck by how infrequently we hear about stories like his. So I told the one I know. @WalesOnline walesonline.co.uk/news/wales…

Most of these companies announcing closures on Monday pay people by the hour. Ergo, this isn't a paid holiday. Would all these workers really prefer to lose a day's pay to sit at home watching the telly while so many struggle with bills and costs?
All of our UK restaurants will be closed on Monday until 5pm, to allow everyone at McDonald’s to pay their respects to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. Operating hours and services may vary after 5pm, so please check our app before travelling.

Imposing compulsory mourning is medieval and will backfire. Sports, etc shouldn't be cancelled so people are free to go or not. Blanket TV(with zero debate) risks nosediving ratings, repeating the Duke of Edinburgh when Channel 4 pulled most viewers by keeping Gogglebox.

My colleagues do great things and I’m proud of every one of them. They deserve to feel the value they create is recognised by their employer and rewarded with fair consolidated pay. That’s the only way we hold on to these talented, passionate people. #NUJReachStrike #FairPayNow
A great turnout on our picket line outside the Reach offices in Cardiff. Lots of young members supporting the strike action. #FairPayNow #CyflogTegNawr #NUJReachStrike @NUJofficial

The murder of 18-year-old Lily Sullivan by Lewis Haines has not prompted a huge amount of coverage, but the sheer casualness of this 31-year-old man's evil is terrifying. A man who killed a woman because she rejected him. These are the words read in court from Lily's mum Anna:
