Since 2021, Tennessee Serves has provided new backpacks to students in TN's distressed counties each year- over 47,000 in total. This year, each student enrolled in a distressed county, more than 15k students, received a backpack. We are proud to support students in rural TN.

TN kids have been making a difference in their communities all summer long! As the #TNKidsServe Summer Challenge comes to a close, we are encouraging participants to get creative in how they serve or revisit a favorite project. Excited to see the ways your child gives back!

In Week 7 of the #TNKidsServe Summer Challenge, help show your child the power of kindness! Encourage them to care for kids and families in your community by using the provided ways to serve, or by thinking of ways on their own.

This week, participating students are encouraged to focus on serving Tennesseans facing food insecurity. Fighting hunger is a daily battle for people of all ages, in every part of our state. Join us this week in helping our neighbors!

Welcome to Week 4 of the #TNKidsServe Summer Challenge! This week, encourage your children to learn about and celebrate how God made each of us unique, as they support those with intellectual or developmental disabilities.

It's Week 3! Encourage your child to lend support to foster children and the families who care for them. Reaching out to peers facing challenging circumstances can offer young volunteers meaningful opportunities to grow and make a positive impact.

It was an honor to host First Spouses from around the country in Nashville this week and show them a glimpse of what makes our state so special.

What an inspiring morning seeing hundreds of volunteers come together to pack 50,000 meals for families in need. It was wonderful to commemorate America 250 by serving others.

During week two of the #TNKidsServe challenge, kids are encouraged to help beautify their neighborhood. Improving your community can be as simple as picking up a piece of trash or planting a garden with friends.

Caring for seniors is an investment in a strong community & state. It was wonderful to join the men & women at Haywood Co. Senior Center for a meal & fellowship. I am grateful for the opportunity to spend time with these seniors and thank them for their contribution to our state.
