The fact that Talarico outperformed El Sayed by such an ungodly massive margin in a state that should be much harder to flip tells you everything you need to know about what direction the Democrats need to head in.
Interesting how mainstream media is playing down the part in jd Vance’s diatribe where he blamed Israel for blunami

The problem with Tweets like this from @SenSchumer is they trivialise serious issues such as corruption, ICE murders, state-sponsored racism and bigotry with frivolous content, which doesn’t help dispel the perception that he is too chummy with Trump to hold him accountable
Nico Gonzalez is a massive liability in that #NuFC midfield

Believe it or not this soliloquy started with “quick notes on…”
Quick Notes on 76ers-Hornets from last night, where the 76ers used a late 13-0 run in the final 3 minutes to get to 6-1 without LeBron or Embiid.
(Notes: No LeBron James or Joel Embiid for the 76ers, no Kon Knueppel or Coby White for the Hornets)
-The 76ers win without LeBron or Embiid. That’s good and it happened against a well-coached, organized team in Charlotte. They’re 6-1 now, which is a great start. Also, it took a 13-0 run in the final three minutes against a team they are more talented than even without LeBron and Embiid that is missing its starting backcourt. The 76ers are easily the most confusing team in the NBA right now from a results versus process perspective. They’ve beaten the Knicks twice and Cleveland, so they have won games against good teams. But they’ve also been pushed by Indiana without Haliburton and Charlotte, plus got hammered by the Pistons. And I wouldn’t say that the wins have been particularly convincing. But hey, racking wins is all that matters at the end of the day.
-Again, the standout thing beyond the immense talent level is just the lack of intentionality on offense. It feels like a huge reason to me why they start so slowly. They take so many tough midrange jumpers. They’re third in the NBA in midrange shot attempts behind the Nuggets and the Raptors. They’re also taking the third-fewest shots in the paint outside of the restricted area. They’re taking the third fewest corner 3s, and they’re shooting the fourth-worst percentage at the rim in the NBA. On some level, they’re fighting math here.
-They’re so talented that they’re overcoming it with a 6-1 record. But there is a reason that this offense is not living up to the sum of its parts and sitting in 23rd league-wide. The players are elite and able to execute; but I don’t think the scheme is creative enough. Hopefully that changes throughout the year and Nick Nurse adds some creativity. At least we got to a Spain/stack series a bit more often in this game. It felt slightly more organized than it has in their earlier contests.
-Speaking of those players, I think the only player under 6-foot-5 that I’ve seen play better than Tyrese Maxey so far this season is Stephen Curry. This is totally ridiculous. He’s averaging almost 30 per game, and this game was yet another example. His blend of speed and touch is completely unstoppable at this point. Nobody can stop him from getting into that 10-foot floater range if he catches the ball on the move. Even when he doesn’t, his acceleration is so special that he can turn the corner anyway. He’s just a truly special player and he’s carrying the 76ers right now.
-This was not a good Jaylen Brown game. Had 16 points on 15 shots and seven free throw attempts. He consistently either settled for fadeaway midrange jumpers or over-penetrated into the paint and left himself without options. He wasn’t as bad as he was in the Detroit game, but the process just seemed wrong from the get-go, where about halfway through the first quarter he had a stretch where he pre-ordained a read to the roller in a ball-screen and got it broken up by Ryan Kalkbrenner, then got swatted by Grayson Allen (?!), then air-balled a 3 in transition. He was much better in the second half, but I wouldn’t say this was his best night.
-Great nights from Anfernee Simons, who drilled five 3s, and Jabari Walker, who more than made up for Adem Bona’s struggles with foul trouble. Dean Wade also ended up with 10 assists, almost all of which felt like they were split-second swing passes or reversals. He had a terrific game just connecting things on offense while providing tough defense with his length.
-For Charlotte, Brandon Miller just looks far more decisive in his movements this year. Yes, all of the typical stuff is here in terms of the normal actions they run, including the guard-to-guard ghost screens they run where he slips to the 3-point line and drills a 3 off of the catch, like at the 7:40 mark of the second quarter. But what was a bit more impressive in this game was him getting all the way to the rim and finishing. He made three shots off of halfcourt drives in this game, including two straight possessions in the fourth quarter where it felt like he made it a point to get downhill to try to score or draw a foul. Blending the shooting with the driving has always been the big key for Miller, and he looks more physically ready to do it this year.
-Grayson Allen was absurdly good. He went 9-12 from the field, drilled seven 3s, attacked closeouts well to create a couple of shots at the rim, and at least was physical on defense. I think he’s just a straight up better player than Miles Bridges for this scheme. He had 27 points and was huge for them.
-You don’t love throwing losses all at one player’s feet, but Dennis Schroder played the worst game I’ve seen anyone play in the NBA this season. He went 1-11 with four turnovers and was just a constant source of over-penetrating and trying to do too much. His decision-making was dreadful. They win this game if Coby White is healthy.
-Finally, Tidjane Salaun is showing some flashes here and there. He’s playing really hard and energetically on defense. He earned some fourth quarter minutes tonight. He stood up Brown a couple of times on drives, and is sliding his feet well even if he can be a bit too aggressive with little hip checks and with his hands. Offensively, it’s really all going to come down to him being able to shoot, and even though he made one tonight, I don’t think the shot looks all that consistent mechanically. Still, he also threw down an absolute poster dunk off of a drive on Bona, and showed the athleticism that at least got Charlotte excited about him. I don’t think I’d go as far as to call him a real rotation player yet, but he’s growing and getting better than what he was last year.
