Ummm, last time I was there, racism was rife.. in particular the treatment of service staff (eg waiters, hotels etc)... by their "elite class" eg rich basters
Dubai is the most ethnically diverse place that I've ever lived in. It is a champion of multiculturalism.
So, how does Dubai manage to get it so right whilst the UK and other Western countries get it so wrong?
Firstly, Dubai has fostered a culture where there is a high expectation of good behaviour towards all peoples. Secondly, Dubai celebrates diversity of nationality, religion, and culture. One of the first questions you'll be asked in Dubai is: "Where are you from?" And thirdly, Dubai protects the identity, culture, and economic status of its own citizens. Dubai has opened its arms to foreigners, who now largely outnumber Dubai's own citizens. As a foreigner, you can buy property in Dubai, own a business, get married, have children, and even retire. But none of these things give you an automatic right to citizenship.
Dubai's population is forecast to grow beyond 5 million by 2030, and over 85% will be foreigners. Dubai's economy will continue to grow faster than most Western economies, benefitting its foreign residents as well as its own citizens.
Whilst birds of a feather flock together, Dubai proves that we can all work together successfully when our identity and origin are celebrated rather than denied. Yes, its government puts its own citizens first, but most British people just want their government to put them first, too. After all, isn't that the first responsibility of any government?

Without wanting to get too politically stained, we’re all aware that there are elections coming up - ominously, in the axis of hypocrisy… sorry, democracy: UK, USA, France and Germany. The choices, frankly, are as bad as it gets. But thankfully, through the help of social media many of us have been switched on. I am in favour of a new breed of independent-thinking politicians, which means that the party system would be a thing of the past, I suppose. Anyway, I am celebrating the return to global conscientiousness - and so glad that Assange is free!

Are you silent because it’s not your child or grandchild? If you are silent during a genocide you are complicit. Shame on you.

Ahmad Manasrah was kidnapped 8 years ago when he was only 13 years old.
This leaked video shows an Israeli officer "interrogating" him. This is how the Israelis treat Palestinian children.
#Israel kidnapped over 880 Palestinian children in 2023 only.

Shorouq Dwaiat, arrested on October 7, 2016, at the age of 16, experienced a horrifying attack near Al-Aqsa Mosque as she headed home. An #Israeli settler attempted to forcibly remove her hijab and shot her. Bleeding on the street for half an hour, Shorouq was then arrested by Israeli soldiers. Now, seven years later, she faces an 18-year sentence and an 80,000 shekel fine on accusations of stabbing. She is supposed to be among the #Palestinian hostages to be released in the first batch of the exchange deal between the #Palestinian resistance and the occupation state.
