"Peace enforcement" means attacking Hezbollah on behalf of Israel to allow zionist occupation of still more of Lebanon.
Irish troops should be deployed to Lebanon as part of a new EU mission and be involved in both peacekeeping and peace enforcement duties, according to the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Defence Helen McEntee.

NATO lecturer Declan Power has an unintentionally revealing piece on the Triple Lock in Indo today.
He literally quotes the section of the UN Charter which makes clear that regional enforcement without UN endorsement is illegal under international law.
He shrugs and moves on.

I don’t think most Israelis understand just how deranged that sounds to the rest of the world
A war is coming to the West Bank
Yesterday Palestinian resistance fighters conducted a surgical strike against Israeli occupation soldiers, fully in accordance with international law.
In response, Israeli government immediately announced that they will do war crimes and started doing war crimes.
All the Palestinian villages in the West Bank are under siege, the city of Hebron is under siege. IDF is demolishing house after house, raiding family after family. They said they want to turn Hebron into Rafah.
More than 250 families were kicked out into the streets with nothing. People slept on the street last night.
The Israeli election is in 3 days, and the Netanyahu-Smotrich government is going to use this to start a war in the West Bank.
The only way to stop this is pressure from all directions. We know it works. International pressure worked for the besieged house in Qusra, which still belongs to the Palestinians because of the all-around attention. It can work for Hebron too.
But it will require EVERYONE reading this doing everything they can to stop this. Call your representative, hold a demonstration, organise direct action against the occupation’s assets abroad. Keep attention on the West Bank.
ACT NOW.

Wow, imagine if Ireland had a geographically concentrated minority with a blended national identity that connects them to a militarily superior power with a history of worsening famines in their country, and that militarily superior power stoked violent unrest among that minority for years in order to impose partition on a state fleeing the imperial center?
“Peace enforcement” without a UN mandate is just sending our troops to intervene in foreign wars.
Appalling.

If Iain Duncan Smith really cares about truth and justice, I will ask the Court Services for permission to show him an MOD document in which his friend, Captain Robert Nairac, is accused by a fellow, serving British officer of planning and executing the Miami Showband murders.
The IRA were terrorists, not soldiers. Their campaign of murder and bombing was not a war of equals, and no amount of historical revisionism will ever make it so. Labour’s Northern Ireland Troubles Bill risks allowing the IRA to rewrite history while British veterans face the prospect of being dragged through investigations decades after serving their country.
Where is the accountability for the IRA? Where are the answers from the Irish Government about those who fled across the border, the support they received and the supply of weapons?
I served in the British Army. My friend, Captain Robert Nairac, was murdered by the IRA. His body has never been recovered. His family still deserves to know what happened to him and where he lies.
The IRA cannot be allowed to portray its campaign of terror as justified by the Good Friday Agreement. Peace does not retrospectively legitimise murder. There is no moral equivalence between terrorists and those who served to uphold the law.
This Bill is a betrayal of our veterans and of families still waiting for the truth.
This is a lie.
The UN General Assembly can authorise peacekeeping missions by a majority vote via the Uniting for Peace mechanism.
It is specifically designed for scenarios where the UN Security Council is deadlocked or a single member is wielding its veto.

Russia “should not have a veto on Irish participation in peacekeeping.”

GOVT MISINFORMATION ALERT - If Ireland deploys DF to proposed ‘EU Support Mission’ to Lebanon without Triple Lock -It will NOT be a Blue Helmet Peacekeeping Mission -It will be an EU (Von Der Leyen ‘We Stand With Israel’) Peace Enforcement Mission to Disarm Hezbollah -A CIVIL WAR
I see the Taoiseach is out talking nonsense and claiming Seán Russell was a Nazi again.
Erwin von Lahousen, a member of the German Resistance who tried to kill Hitler and testified against senior Nazis at Nuremberg, literally provided a character reference for Russell:

The Irish far-right have been so mollycoddled that, when their marching orders from Washington and London send them in the wrong direction, they're stumped.
They're genuinely surprised to find that most Irish people aren't pro-Orange Order or instinctually anti-trade union.

They ignore that those who actually waged the struggle in the USA clearly saw the parallels for themselves & embraced it…
