This type of fearmongering about Israel is wrong. It is not a winning strategy for any state. It does nothing to help Michigan Democrats win up and down the ballot in eight days. Do we need to lower costs by building more homes, securing people’s health care, and creating a fairer federal tax code? Yes, we do!! How we do so is not by blaming the high costs of our goods on the only Jewish homeland in the world. I want to see Democrats succeed at every level, and that means keeping our focus on lowering costs for Michigan families and reining in this out-of-control President.
New @RebellionPac ad dropping in Michigan. We have to suffer here at home, so Israel can get all its wars. That’s why they buy politicians like Mike Rogers. He promised to serve Israel “unconditionally,” but never made that promise to you.

Anti-Jewish lies through the ages:
❌ 1300s: Jews poisoned the wells
❌ 1400s: Jews murder children for religious rituals
❌ 1500s: Jews are inherently treacherous sorcerers
❌ 1600s: Jews are economic parasites
❌ 1700s: Jews are secret orchestrators of global revolution
❌ 1800s: Jews control the global currency
❌ 1920s: Jews control the banks and media
❌ 1950s: Jews are "rootless cosmopolitans"
❌ 2000s: Jews orchestrated 9/11
❌ 2026: Jews stole your bananas and eggs
The lies have changed. The hatred for Jews has stayed the same.
Cenk Uygur's ad for Abdul El-Sayed isn't selling new politics. It's just recycling old hate.
The polls were pretty good in Brazil.

This is the modern-day equivalent of a Medieval lord telling his serfs that the reason they are starving is because Jewish moneylenders stole all their money.

I mean Cenk is dumb and a bigot. Everyone knows this. But this ad is dumb and bigoted at scale. It’s innumerate and morally obtuse and if anything remotely like it was aimed at Muslims he and his ilk would (defensibly) be outraged. But this shit is fine when aimed at the you know who.

This is one of the most antisemitic things I've ever seen in a political ad, and it's for Abdul El-Sayed. The message: your life is hard, groceries are expensive, and the Jewish state is why. Total madness!
This is one of the most comical ads this election cycle. Yes, Americans are chatting at the grocery store about how they can’t buy groceries because their tax dollars “go to Israel” 🙄 😂 nevermind the fact that Israel has invested 100% of military aid in the U.S. economy since Oct 7, and has also purchased over $1 billion *additional* in arms, according to DoD. Federal military aid is also prohibited from being spent on anything other than U.S. arms, so the line about healthcare is even more comical. El Sayed and his Islamist fans like Cenk Uygur want and expect American voters to be so stupid they never check.
Not only is this ad insane, conspiratorial, and antisemitic — it is also flat out false. El Sayed isn’t for the people of Michigan, he isn’t even for America. He is for the Muslim Brotherhood.

Just to state the obvious:
It’s entirely possible to oppose aid to Israel— whether on moral, foreign policy, or financial grounds — without promoting the fiction that such aid, or Israel itself, is responsible for what Americans pay for their groceries.

I am not saying this for effect, I mean it quite literally: rhetoric like this gets Jews killed. Cenk is not just an embarassment, he is a hateful demagogue.

Bodes well for ‘28 Dem primary: “48 percent of Democrats wanted to see the party move toward the political center, compared with 27 percent who thought it should go to the left…21 percent of Democrats said the party should stay where it is.”

I worked for Obama twice. I ran for Congress as a Democrat.
Now I’m called a traitor for refusing to give every Democrat my vote.
I’m raising a Jewish daughter. Her safety matters more to me than party loyalty.
If that bothers you, ask yourself why.

El-Sayed now has the distinction of utilizing two of the most prominent antisemitic podcasters as surrogates -- on the far left and far right:

NEW @jewishinsider via @marcrod97: "New El-Sayed ad features Tucker Carlson, far-right podcaster’s attack on Mike Rogers"
"El-Sayed’s last-minute pitch to the MAGA base comes as Rogers has made inroads with Democratic voters"

Coates might be the quintessential example of how hatred of Israel absolutely melts your brain. He used to be an interesting thinker and writer and now he’s become a legit crazy person, spouting ignorant, mindless, racist drivel about Israel.

Yglesias copped to something that was wrong because he believed Mehdi was telling the truth. That would be like me believing a poll that had an oyster fisherman up in a senate race when that poll had an erroneously positive bio. The fault would be with the person who was wrong, not the person who believed the errors.

I will not be pressured into voting for somebody in the name of preserving a progressive agenda that I have fought for my entire life, but has now abandoned me. Since college, I have marched for everybody. Now that Jews are in peril around the world, nobody is marching for us.

The New York Times has a new piece asking how much of the opposition to Abdul El-Sayed is anti-Muslim. Honestly, some of it is. But some of it isn't, and we shouldn't pretend otherwise.
I don't care what his mother did in Egypt in the 1970s, and it’s not his responsibility what a half-sister he wasn't raised with has posted, including her praise of the 7 October massacres.
But I do care that El Sayed did sign a letter supporting the Muslim Brotherhood in 2012. Pointing out he did that is not bigotry.
When a man drove his truck into a Michigan synagogue with 140 children inside, El-Sayed condemned it, then released a video the next day explaining that 'hurt people hurt people' because the attacker's relatives (Hezbollah members) had been killed in Lebanon. He apologised five months later, during an election campaign, but reminding people what he said at first isn't bigotry either.
He has repeatedly declined to say whether Israel has a right to exist as a Jewish state, and when he condemns terror groups like Hamas and the regime in Iran, it tends to come with a 'but.'
We can condemn anti-Muslim sentiment without ignoring antisemitism. It's not hard.

Instead of saying “Jews control the economy,” now they say, “Israel is why oil prices are high.”
It’s the same bigotry, just a modern mutation.

I assume he’s mainly doing this for the clicks but it’s still striking the extent to which Mehdi has fully and unambiguously embraced the most virulent strains of anti-Semitism
My former colleague showing how it’s done. We all need to stand up to the autocratic felon.
Just a few hours ago, President Trump said in the Oval Office that I should be tried in court because I dared to talk about the corruption coming out of the White House.
If I've learned one thing from this past year, it's that you have to push back. I'm not going to be intimidated out of standing up for the rule of law and the country that has given me everything.
