UK government - we don't have a clue on how to help the cost of living crisis. Hang on let's introduce an idea that's being going for ages and gaslight the public into thinking we are helping. Fecking morons all of them.
When fuel prices are high, finding the best deal matters.
That's why we've launched Fuel Finder in @googlemaps, helping you compare prices more easily and find your cheapest local option.
Tip toeing to a totalitarian state.
The Government has shown its hand.
Culture, Media and Sport Secretary Lisa Nandy has warned that the Government’s online safety crackdown is far from over, describing the social media ban for under-16s as only a “staging post”.
She has vowed to go further, saying: “We shouldn’t accept that this is the end.”
And it gets worse. Ahead of her conference speech, Nandy said the social media ban is “a staging post to what must be a very interventionist state, policing and regulating the online space so that people are safe”.
Nandy has just said the quiet part out loud. The state is already far too interventionist, flagging people who criticise the Government and its policies online. In the last five years, 62,199 people have been arrested for things they have said, both online and offline.
Let’s be honest: this is no longer solely about protecting children online. It is about the state gaining greater control over what people say online.
Nandy praised former Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer and former Digital Secretary Liz Kendall for introducing the social media ban earlier this summer. She also acknowledged a “step change” in the Government’s approach since Andy Burnham took over in July.
Nandy has confirmed what we already knew: Andy Burnham’s Government will go further with online censorship.

I cannot believe the amount of absolute crap that people are saying about how good Burnham's speech was. The country is in major deep shit financially and labour have no fecking clue how to get out of it.
Energy prices going through the roof, diesel about to jump in price. The knock-on effect is going to be bad, very, very bad for everyone.
Mad millipede needs locking up for the damage he and his government has done to this country.
- The Russian advance has stalled. And the number of Russian casualties, both killed and wounded, has exceeded 1.5 million. Moreover, the Russian economy is in a dire state due to the rapidly accumulating consequences of Putin's decisions. And sanctions are depriving the Kremlin's military machine of revenue...
I wonder if anyone will hold this person accountable for their words? They should be forced to prove their claims with irrefutable evidence, or until they can no longer speak.
This will get only get worse when the government introduces it new national drive to compact "so called" disinformation. We are truly living in scary times for free speech.
🎙️🚨 THE MEDICALISATION OF WRONGTHINK — AND A SPEED AWARENESS COURSE FOR YOUR THOUGHTS!
Animal rights campaigner Anneka Svenska had two police officers turn up at her door and tell her to accept a police record, attend an “online thinking” course or face arrest over comments she made on social media about the incineration of beagles at a company that breeds dogs for use in medical research.
They threatened to arrest her under Section 179 of the Online Safety Act unless she accepted these conditions.
Thankfully, Anneka refused to accept the “community resolution disposal”, which would have remained on her police record. After she engaged a lawyer, the case was dropped.
This thinking course is deeply sinister. It is essentially a combination of a speed awareness course for your thoughts and a therapy session aimed at changing the way people think.
It is the medicalisation of wrongthink. And it isn’t free: one police force charges £175 to attend.
As FSU Director of Policy and Research @DavidRoseUK explains in the latest episode of the FSU Podcast, this is reminiscent of the Soviet Union, where dissidents were sent to psychiatric hospitals.

The irony of this post is off the charts, @hopenothate you have been doing this for years.
BREAKING: For months, an account called "Big Time Charlie" has been building a database of charity workers, aid workers and others it brands "traitors", using AI to pull information from LinkedIn and elsewhere.
Our investigation shows he is an activist and has donated thousands to Rupert Lowe’s Restore Britain.

Congratulations @JonathanBrash you retard award is in the post.
In a post on X last night, which was hastily deleted this morning, the Hartlepool MP declared: "Public sector workers use their income to pay FOR the private sector. The state is one of the biggest procurers of the private sector.
"It wouldn't exist without taxpayers. People creating the divide between public and private genuinely don't understand how an economy works."
There we have it. In Brashonomics, the private sector owes its existence to a state funded by taxes levied on the private sector. Answers on a postcard if anyone can decipher that word salad…

Why are you @UKLabour not allowing direct replies to this post or see quotes replies directly. This is the second labour MP to do this. @x needs to stop this from government accounts.
The changes we made mean councils can now keep every single penny of this money to build more homes.
As we rebalance Right to Buy, we’re urging councils to make good use of these funds to repair public housing stock and get families off waiting lists.

What the feck has happened to serious politics. How the hell can a bloke who's been an MP for less than a week think he's running the country now.
🚨 NEW: Rachel Reeves is set to accept a junior Cabinet position after Andy Burnham sacks her as Chancellor
[@FT]
I wonder if all the idiots out today saying what a wonderful job Starmer has done can answer this question. If everything he's done is so great, why the feck has he resigned.
All those labour MPs who said Starmer is here to stay will soon start brown nosing Burnham now. Call a G.E. and get rid of all of them.
🚨 BREAKING: Keir Starmer is now considering resigning after Cabinet Ministers called for him to step down
He'll come to a decision with his wife and family over the weekend
[@thetimes]
Excellent interview on the Mike Graham show this morning @i with the ex Major who said that everything Starmer does is to fuck people off and create more division. This post confirms it.
Today I've agreed with @eucopresident that we will hold the second UK-EU summit on 22 July.
My Labour Government is delivering on our promise to reset our relationship and put Britain at the heart of Europe.
Together we will tackle the cost of living, boost jobs and create opportunities for young people.
The introduction of banning under 16s on social media is all what people are talking about now. It seems that all the mayhem that happened over the last few weeks has been completely forgotten about. Next week will be all about Burnham.
