🇺🇦🇷🇺 UKRAINE REVERSES RUSSIAN GAINS AS MOSCOW’S SOUTHERN OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES
Ukraine’s southern front is showing signs of a significant shift. According to a battlefield assessment, Ukrainian forces have regained more territory than they have lost in this sector during 2026, reversing important Russian advances from the previous year.
Russia is still attacking, but its main offensive is increasingly concentrated along a roughly 30-kilometre front stretching from Ternuvate toward Huliaipole.
Moscow has committed substantial forces to this axis, including the 35th, 36th and 5th Armies, alongside the 68th Army Corps. Despite that concentration, progress remains limited, with Russian troops relying heavily on small-unit infiltration to penetrate Ukrainian positions and threaten the Orikhiv–Novomykolaivka road.
Further west, the Russian offensive toward Orikhiv appears to have lost momentum as Ukrainian forces consolidate their defensive positions.
The most consequential developments, however, are taking place along the flanks.
South of Zaporizhzhia, Ukrainian troops have reportedly pushed Russian forces back from positions north of Stepnohirsk. Farther east, Ukrainian operations have challenged Russia’s northern flank near Huliaipole, with advances toward Velyka Novosilka.
The assessment also describes Ukrainian forces regaining positions along the Mokri Yali River, consolidating around Komar and establishing control on both banks. These gains would help restore parts of the defensive network compromised during Russia’s 2025 offensive.
That matters because Russian advances in this area had threatened to open additional approaches toward Pokrovske, Novomykolaivka and eastern Zaporizhzhia, potentially creating longer-term pressure toward Dnipro and Pavlohrad.
According to the assessment, Ukrainian counteroperations have substantially reduced those threats.
Russia retains considerable forces in the region and continues offensive operations, so the situation should not be mistaken for a complete Russian withdrawal or a confirmed collapse of its southern front.
Nevertheless, the reported territorial changes suggest that Ukrainian forces have done more than merely stop Moscow’s advance. They have begun recovering ground, disrupting Russian offensive plans and rebuilding defensive depth across a strategically important sector.
The southern battlefield is no longer defined solely by how far Russia can advance, but increasingly by how much territory Ukraine can recover and hold.

No surprise, Russia has been helping Iran and the Houthis destroy the Saudi oil industry.
All those billions in bribes the Saudis paid to Kushner/Trump family, and White House ends up siding with Russia to bring oil prices to $300/barrel.
Meanwhile, Trump attacks Ukraine for hitting Russian refineries.

🇺🇦 Overnight, our friendly Ukrainian drones delivered spectacular strikes on the giant Azot chemical plant in Novomoskovsk, Tula Oblast, and gave the Novolipetsk Steel Plant in Lipetsk a taste of fire!
The Azot chemical plant is burning fiercely, with massive flames lighting up the night sky. The AM-70 ammonia production unit is reportedly on fire, along with other valuable equipment and storage tanks. 🔥
This strategically important Russian chemical plant is a major supplier of critical raw materials used in the production of explosives and gunpowder, including:
* Concentrated nitric acid — a key component in the synthesis of RDX, HMX, TNT, and propellants for artillery ammunition.
* Ammonium nitrate (both porous and conventional) — used as a base for industrial and military explosives.
* Methanol and ammonia — essential chemical feedstocks for the further production of military-grade polymers and fuels.
The plant is reportedly Russia's second-largest producer of nitrogen-containing compounds. 💥

❗️🇺🇦Ukrainian ground drone with AI independently covered 19 km for the first time during a logistics mission
During the vehicle’s movement, cameras recognize the road, shoulders, and obstacles in real time. The AI independently makes decisions on maneuvering, while the operator can adjust the route and set the speed on individual sections.
The use of artificial intelligence makes it possible to reduce the dependence of ground robotic complexes on a constant communication channel, in particular Starlink.

🇺🇦🇺🇸 TRUMP'S STARLINK CRISIS BACKFIRED AS CONGRESS RALLIES BEHIND UKRAINE 🇷🇺
What began as a dangerous disruption to Ukraine's battlefield communications has turned into a political confrontation in Washington, with Republicans and Democrats demanding answers from Donald Trump's administration and Elon Musk.
And Volodymyr Zelenskyy has secured an important immediate result.
On October 24, Ukraine's Defence Ministry confirmed that Starlink and Starshield connections were functioning again on platforms travelling faster than 400 km/h. The restrictions introduced earlier in October had disrupted Ukrainian drone operations, including systems used to intercept Russian attacks.
The restoration followed mounting pressure from American lawmakers, Ukrainian officials and public scrutiny of the decision.
But the controversy is far from over.
Eight members of Congress from both parties have urged Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth to expand the Pentagon's Starshield contract and guarantee reliable communications for Ukrainian forces, without arbitrary speed or geographical restrictions.
Meanwhile, Democratic Representatives Sam Liccardo, Jimmy Panetta and Ro Khanna have demanded an investigation into who authorized the restrictions. Their letter to White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles requests answers within 14 days, including whether SpaceX violated its federal contracts.
Senator Richard Blumenthal has launched a separate inquiry into the company's role and the government's dependence on its satellite technology.
Then came another challenge to Trump's Russia policy.
Republicans Brian Fitzpatrick and Don Bacon joined Democrat Marie Gluesenkamp Perez in introducing legislation that would reverse the administration's October 9 authorization involving Russian diesel imports.
Their proposal would also protect intelligence support for Ukraine and require congressional intelligence committees to be notified within 24 hours of any interruption.
The legislation has not become law, and the question of who ordered the satellite restrictions remains unresolved. Trump and Musk have denied responsibility, while accounts of the decision have conflicted.
Nevertheless, the political consequences are already visible.
Instead of ending the controversy, the restoration of satellite connectivity has been followed by demands for investigations, stronger contractual safeguards and legislation challenging the administration's approach to Russia.
Zelenskyy has welcomed the return of critical communications, crediting diplomatic engagement and the pressure exerted by Ukraine's partners.
The immediate operational problem appears to have been resolved. The larger question of whether Ukraine can rely on uninterrupted American-controlled military technology has not.
And Washington's answer may now depend as much on Congress as on the White House.
