Dreams turned into reality—just like in the song, I've got everything I wanted. From preparing the land with our trusty tractor to the bustling nursery brimming with tomatoes, onions, cabbages, capsicum, and chili, lemon, watermelon, maize, eggplant sunflower —each ready for transplanting. Watch as we transform visions into verdant fields, one seed at a time. Every step in our soil is a step closer to our goals.

Are DeSantis and JD Vance genuinely challenging the policies that produced these results, or are they simply trying to distance themselves from the political consequences? If these failures were so obvious, where was this criticism before voters delivered their verdict? 😂
One of the things the data analysts on our side obsessed over was "composition"—whether the electorate looked close enough to 2024 for Republicans to win. And despite polls that showed a Democrat blowout, the data kept on telling us the same story: in some states turnout was merely OK, in other states it was downright amazing, and in no state was it catastrophic. There was a genuine sense of optimism on our team: our people were showing up. So, I asked the smartest data guy I know, does that mean we're going to shock the world? "No," he told me. "We might do better than the polls suggest. But the data is telling us that a lot of Trump/Vance 2024 voters are pissed and planning to vote for the other guys. Our voters are turning out, but they may not vote for us." Well, that looks prophetic now. Our voters did show up. In Florida, for example, the electorate was 9 points more Republican than Democrat, just a couple points worse than 2024. Undoubtedly there were places we could have done better on turnout. But the main problem is not turnout. The main problem is that many people who voted for Trump/Vance in 2024 voted for Democrats in 2026. There will be a lot of infighting and arguing over what happened and why that is. One of the pollsters I really respect told me that our economic messaging wasn’t sharp enough down the stretch. I’m sure that’s true. But the real reason we lost is obvious to almost everyone. Another pollster—one of the smartest people I know in politics, told me yesterday we’d lose the generic ballot by 13 points. I felt negative going into Tuesday, but even I was shocked by this. In his polling, he saw that a lot of Trump 2024 voters were angry and planning to vote for Democrats. He asked those voters who had abandoned us what would cause them to come back on our team. The top four answers, accounting for nearly all of the responses were: 1) End the war 2) Focus on cost of living/inflation 3) Put America First 4) Change our relationship to Israel Our voters showed up. And the above four reasons are why many of them voted for Democrats. This is according to a pollster who nailed the results. While many spent Monday attacking Rachel Campos Duffy for calling for a diplomatic resolution to the conflict, it turns out her political advice was sound. (She’s also a great person.) In the next few months, there's going to be a lot of gaslighting. Expect to hear any number of establishment politicians say the solution to our woes is amnesty. I'm open to the idea that we should change enforcement—by focusing more on businesses that hire illegal labor, for instance. But anyone pushing amnesty is lying to you. The reason we lost is the war. The president himself said so last night. If you'd like to argue it was worth it, that losing the Senate for the next 6 years was worth it, then do so. Argue it was a worthwhile cost to pay. Agree or disagree, that's at least honest. But everyone knows why we lost. And any honest conversation about where we go from here must start there. I remain hopeful about our country. To the people who are pissed off and want to say, “I told you so”: you’re right, you did tell us so. Take that energy into electing Republicans who share your worldview. To the people who are just pissed at the results, you should be. Let’s take that anger and get back to the work of saving our country.

An election changes who holds office. A trifecta changes who holds the power to govern. Winning the governor's office is one thing. Winning both legislative chambers is another. Together, they create an opportunity to turn campaign promises into public policy.

HISTORY MADE: Somali American Abdi Daisane flips longtime Republican seat in central Minnesota. Daisane defeats Republican Mike Conway in Minnesota House District 14A, becoming the first Democrat to win the district in more than a decade. The district includes parts of St. Cloud, Waite Park, St. Joseph and St. Augusta. Daisane, who lost his first bid for the seat in 2024, makes a historic comeback in a district long held by Republicans.

Peggy Flanagan defeats anti-Somali Republican Michele Tafoya in Minnesota’s U.S. Senate race. Flanagan makes history as the first Native American woman elected to the U.S. Senate, defeating Tafoya, who made attacks targeting Somali Minnesotans part of her campaign. Tafoya repeatedly singled out Somalis in discussions of gang violence and fraud, accused Democrats of failing to address what she called “Somali gang violence,” and campaigned on deporting noncitizens convicted of fraud.

ICE raids. Anti-Somali rhetoric. Rising prices. For these young Somali American voters in Minnesota, the issues are personal. The Somali Brief spoke with three voters about what motivated them to cast their ballots in the 2026 midterm elections. Here's what they told us. “My closest family and relatives had to deal with ICE.” — Eftina, 18, a first-time voter in Minneapolis, shared how her family's experiences with ICE shaped her decision to vote. “The problem is not our kids are ‘gangsters’ or bad. I think it’s being used as a political movement.” — Mahad Ahmed. “We shouldn’t have to be paying for gas and groceries that are this high.” — Fardus Hassan, a University of Minnesota student.

When one community organizes voters, it's called civic engagement. When another does the same, you call it replacement. If you're so afraid of the bear, perhaps you shouldn't have poked it! 😂
MINNESOTA SOMALIS JUST ORGANIZED THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY TO VOTE DEMOCRAT. THIS IS HOW REPLACEMENT WORKS This is the red-green alliance in action. And they are not subtle. Minnesota’s Somali community just ran a full-scale turnout operation the night before the election. Imams, drivers, and organizers stood in front of the community and ordered every eligible person out the door. Cars ready. Rides arranged. The entire group was told to vote for the Democratic slate, Jihadi Keith Ellison, Amy Klobuchar, and every other Democrat on the ballot, because those candidates “stood with our community.” They are not debating individual candidates. They are mobilizing as a bloc. Mosque networks, family pressure, door-knocking, Friday prayers converted into get-out-the-vote. Explicit framing that this election decides “who gets to belong.” That is coordinated minority power. Different national origins, Somali, Pakistani, Arab, Iranian, different languages, same religious institutions, same civic organizations, same lockstep turnout for the party that protects their institutional interests. The irony is the Republican pandering. While this machine turns out for Democrats, some on the right still chase these votes. Outreach dinners. Softened language. Hope that economic messaging or school choice will peel off enough of a high-cohesion bloc to matter. It does not, when will Republicans learn!? The real gap is turnout. Demographic change is measurable. Minnesota’s Somali population went from near zero to the largest in the country in a generation. Young, high-fertility, heavily naturalized, concentrated. Limited English among many of the longer-resident foreign-born. High welfare usage relative to the native-born. That group just demonstrated organized electoral leverage. Close races get decided by these margins. Policy gets bent. Curriculum gets pressured. Conservatives are not matching that intensity. When one side runs a coordinated community operation and the other side treats the election as optional, the math favors the organized bloc. The red-green alliance does not need a statewide majority. It needs concentrated numbers, high internal cohesion, and the other side not showing up. If you want the standards held, the enclaves blocked, and the pandering to stop, the answer is not another outreach dinner. It is turnout that matches theirs. Find your district. Vote. Do not give them the field by default. They just told you what they are doing. Believe them and show up.

There's an old saying: Never underestimate the people you've given a reason to organize. 😂 They wanted to make #Somalis a political issue. Now they may discover that Somali Americans have political voices of their own. 🇺🇸🗳️ ✊🏽

#JDVance, you're 50 years too late. Some Somali families were building their American lives before you were born. Their children and grandchildren are Americans. You can't deport a family history, and you can't erase citizenship with a campaign speech. 😂

The Trump administration announced nearly $30 million in new fraud charges in Minnesota on Friday, targeting alleged schemes involving Medicaid and other taxpayer-funded programs. FBI Director Kash Patel said four people were arrested after federal agents executed 17 search warrants Thursday. The arrests were tied to a 26-count indictment involving more than $41 million in alleged Medicaid fraud. Federal prosecutors also said 13 defendants have been charged, convicted or sentenced since Sept. 30 in cases involving nearly $83 million in intended losses. The new charges include allegations that providers billed Medicaid for autism therapy and home support services that were never provided. Prosecutors also accused one woman of paying parents kickbacks in exchange for submitting Medicaid claims for autism services. “The cases highlighted today represent my office’s unwavering commitment to protect the integrity of taxpayer-funded programs,” said U.S. Attorney for the District of Minnesota Daniel N. Rosen. “These defendants stole money meant for the vulnerable, and they will be brought to justice.” The Justice Department said investigators have issued more than 1,000 subpoenas and executed more than 40 search warrants in Minnesota this year. But when a reporter asked about the federal government's own spending, Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent dismissed the question as a waste of time. The reporter wanted to know why the Trump administration paid $495.6 million for a vacant prison in Appleton that its owner had offered to sell to Minnesota for $75 million just a year earlier. "I don't know anything about that," Bessent responded. He said officials were there to prosecute criminal fraud and that questions diverting attention from that work were "a waste of our time."

If she's already “cooked,” why hasn't she been charged? 😂 A referral isn't an indictment, and allegations aren't convictions. Let the evidence speak in court. Meanwhile, @IlhanOmar just secured 80.7% of her primary vote, while POTUS is polling at 32% national approval. 🙄
🚨 JUST IN: DHS Sec. Markwayne Mullin CONFIRMS DHS has referred Ilhan Omar Nur Said Elmi to DOJ after AMPLE evidence was obtained And now, Nur Said Elmi's brother apparently claimed to be GAY despite their purported marriage! YIKES "HSI did a lot of investigation to be able to present the case to them. And I'll just say this again, we're enforcing our nation's laws and we're going to do that. We're not weaponizing. We're not using political theater on this. Those of us involved in this case isn't out here talking about it." "We're enforcing our nation's laws across the board equally and we're going to continue to do that — and if Congress doesn't like those laws they can change it!" 🎯 Mullin has already called this a "strong case." Agents served multiple warrants the same day they hit Omar's D.C. home, and roughly a dozen grand jury subpoenas went out👀 Potential future charges include conspiracy and false statements on immigration paperwork Lying on your application has NO expiration date, and the statute of limitations won't save her from denaturalization either! SHE'S COOKED.

What do you expect when the president and his cronies are swimming in corruption? Corruption doesn't trickle down anymore; it flows straight from the top. As the Somali saying goes, “Ratiga yar, ratiga weyn saan-qaadkiisuu leeyahay.” 😂
🚨 IT'S OFFICIAL: Salim Said, owner of Minneapolis "Safari Restaurant," has been sentenced to 30 YEARS in federal prison and ordered to pay $44 million in restitution Good, now make sure people like TIM WALZ, AG Ellison and Ilhan are investigated for what they knew! His crew claimed to serve thousands of meals a day to hungry kids. Instead the money went to a million-dollar home in Plymouth, a Park Avenue mansion in Minneapolis, property in Ohio, and luxury cars 😠 His lawyer argued that no child actually went hungry. The judge wasn't buying it: "You took the reputation of our state down with you." He also has a PRIOR fraud conviction. 32 defendants have been sentenced so far, and the median sentence is just 38.5 months.

As someone with a degree in linguistics, let me correct you, @grok. 😂 The intended meaning is: “𝗜 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗵𝗲𝗱, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘄𝗮𝘀 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗺𝗲.” ✊🏽
Replying to @westtoeastt
Yes, the lyrics explicitly reference punishing and crushing enemies. Key lines include "Waan ciqaabnaa cuqdad ku beernaa" (we punish them and plant resentment) and related boasts of dominating/crushing foes, plus enemies fleeing wherever the singer steps. The language is aggressive and boastful. Comparable rivalrous or martial rhetoric is common in Somali traditional poetry (gabay) and modern rap, which often feature clan boasts, challenges, and power claims over rivals.

This may have already been widely observed, but it just occurred to me that Trump probably ordered this high-profile raid on Ilhan Omar's home, accusing her of immigration fraud and threatening to denaturalize and deport her, just before the election to make immigrants afraid to go to the polls on November 3rd or even to vote by mail. And to throw some red meat to any xenophobes who've been thinking twice about Trump as their gas and grocery prices soared. #Somalia @IlhanMN

It is a basic principle of American democracy that the government can’t selectively target individuals simply because of their political beliefs or what they say. But that’s exactly what the Trump Administration is doing to Congresswoman Ilhan Omar of Minnesota. To understand why this is so appalling, it’s important to know the facts. Congresswoman Omar came to this country with her father when she was 12 years old. Five years later, her father became a naturalized citizen. If Ilhan had been 18 at the time, she would have had to apply for citizenship separately. But because she was 17, she became a naturalized citizen automatically. Congresswoman Omar went on to graduate from college, work as a community organizer, become the first Somali-American legislator elected to public office in the U.S., and win a seat in Congress. There, she has been one of the Trump Administration’s fiercest critics, which has led the president to repeatedly single her out as someone who he believes does not belong in this country. Now the Administration is actively trying to deport Congresswoman Omar, seemingly based solely on the unsubstantiated theory that she was actually 18 when her father was naturalized, and therefore is not a citizen. Federal agents have raided her home, confiscated personal records, and seized her phone — all to try and uncover a nonexistent smoking gun from 20 years ago that will somehow make their case. Think about that. The full weight of the federal government is being brought down on a law-abiding elected official because she has dared to criticize the president. And it’s not the first time this has happened. Under President Trump, the Justice Department has repeatedly gone after those he considers his political enemies — from the Attorney General of New York, to the former head of the FBI, to members of the Federal Reserve. In those cases, the prosecutions either stalled or were dismissed for having no basis in law, and the same is likely to happen in this case. But not before Congresswoman Omar’s life has been turned upside down, her legal bills have piled up, and she’s been forced to spend time fighting unsubstantiated charges instead of serving the people of Minnesota. The fact that any president, or any administration, is willing to engage in such transparent efforts to intimidate someone should outrage all Americans, regardless of how they feel about Congresswoman Omar’s political views. Because if this becomes the new normal, there’s no reason to believe it will stop with her — or that future presidents, in either party, won’t do the same.

My quote! 👇🏽
Trump lies: "I won Minnesota 3 times. But they didn't give me the victory. I do great in Minnesota. I call it iron country. Best stuff in the world. They're a very dishonest state. When I lost Minnesota, people in Minnesota cried. I think I'm gonna go there."
