Support Starlink in Namibia!
If you want to see @Starlink in Namibia, please email [email protected] and voice your support for Government Gazette 8795, Notice 897 before Dec 12.
Namibia is at a pivotal moment in its digital future. The country ranks 149th out of 156 countries globally in median download speed and fixed internet penetration rates are below 5%.
This is actually sad because we have the blueprint! We know what Starlink represents, but we cannot build a functional digital ecosystem by shutting out everything else that should make it work. Make it seamless!
We need a ground station. 🇿🇼

STARLINK GOES DARK IN 🇿🇦 SOUTH AFRICA!
The company now requires people, who wish to use roaming, to submit their travel plans and copies of their official identification documents.
The new step has closed a loophole that previously enabled South Africans to use Starlink roaming as a semi-permanent broadband connection in the country...

SpaceX has announced that it is introducing dynamic pricing for @Starlink Residential plans in select areas based on supply of capacity and demand from customers.
"As our constellation grows and network capacity changes, service pricing may change from time to time. Beginning with your next billing cycle on or after November 30, the monthly price for your Residential service plan will be adjusted to $156/month."
It looks like pricing differences are currently limited to a max 20% increase and 20% decrease.
SpaceX says: "Given this rapid pace of change, we will be reviewing prices on a regular basis, roughly quarterly."

Great article, worth a read!
"By mid-2026, @Starlink had secured licences in roughly 30 African countries, reaching an estimated 500,000 users across the continent by the end of 2025.
According to an Ookla report, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Zambia together accounted for about 64% of that African base, per Space in Africa.
Ookla’s Speedtest Intelligence found Starlink outperforming local internet providers in almost every African market it had entered in early 2026, with 16 of 23 measured countries clearing 50 Mbps.
The performance gap matters because the incumbents it is humiliating, MTN, Airtel, Orange, Vodafone, built their dominance on markets where the alternative to a slow connection was no connection at all. Roughly 400 million Africans remain offline.
Some 250 million live beyond the reach of fibre or mobile networks entirely. Those are the people Starlink can theoretically reach. They are also the people the existing industry demonstrably did not."
