Being a national leader in maternal health doesn't mean our work is over.
In Massachusetts, we’ve expanded access to doulas and midwives, postpartum screenings, and mental health care for new moms.
Powerful conversation at @umassmemorial with women, doulas, and doctors about what’s working — and how we can do more.

Giving blood is one of the simplest ways to save a life.
Today, I stopped by the Nicholas G. Xiarhos Blood Donor Center at @CapeCodHealth to make a donation. Nick was a son of Yarmouth, a Marine, and an American hero who gave his life serving our country in Afghanistan.
In so many ways, @xiarhosforrep and the Xiarhos family have turned their love for Nick into a lasting commitment to helping others. Grateful to them, and to everyone who rolls up their sleeve to give back. The need is real, and every donation counts.

On the ground in Haverhill today after directing state agencies to work with the city to restore the flow of wastewater to the treatment plant. We’re responding with everything we’ve got to restore swim access for the holiday.
State engineers, environmental experts, public health officials, and local crews are working around the clock to protect public health. That’s our top priority.
This was an excellent way to see the direct impact our agencies have on people every day! Thank you, @massblind!
We recently had the honor of having Health & Human Services Secretary Kiame Mahaniah join an Orientation & Mobility lesson. During the session, Ella practiced traveling to & from a train station and learned techniques for confidently navigating the station environment. @MassHHS

Americans everywhere are seeing their health premiums jump—sometimes by double or even triple digits.
President Trump and Republicans in Congress could have stopped it. They didn’t.
Massachusetts is done waiting on Washington.
I’m investing $250 million from the Commonwealth Care Trust Fund to shield 270,000 people, families, and small businesses from spiking health care costs.
But this shouldn’t fall on states. President Trump and Congress need to do their job. Extend the credits.

In Massachusetts, our vaccine recommendations are rooted in science.
Washington politics won’t change that—families here will have access to the vaccines their children need.

When public health decisions aren't grounded in science at the federal level, states have to step up.
In 2025, we expanded Massachusetts’ authority to set our own vaccine schedules and requirements — and made sure vaccines recommended by DPH are covered by your insurance.

Since 1991, the hepatitis B vaccine has cut pediatric infections by 99%.
It’s safe and it works — saying otherwise puts our children in danger.
Here in Massachusetts, @MassDPH is led by a doctor, guided by science, and still strongly recommends hep B shots for newborns.
