ZIMBABWE-UK RELATIONS REACH HISTORIC MILESTONES Last week was a busy one for the Second Republic, with much happening as it kept everyone occupied with its indefatigable work ethic. In the background was Speaker Advocate Mudenda's historic visit to London. Hon. Advocate J.F.N. Mudenda arrived in London at the invitation of his UK counterpart, Rt Hon Sir Lindsay Hoyle. The visit saw him become the first Zimbabwean Speaker ever formally acknowledged in the House of Commons during a live PMQs session. Speaker Hoyle expressed full legislative support for Zimbabwe's Commonwealth re-admission and committed to engaging the UK Executive to expedite it. The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA) agreed that observer status for Zimbabwe's Parliament could provide a practical short-term route to full membership, with a phased approach now on the table. Their bilateral talks covered boosting trade and investment — with both Speakers agreeing current levels fall far short of potential. Speaker Hoyle has accepted a reciprocal invitation to visit Zimbabwe.

This is the Second Republic's vision under H.E. President ED Mnangagwa - integrated development that restores dignity.
INTEGRATED HUMAN SETTLEMENTS A modern housing programme must be judged by the quality of the communities it creates, not merely by the number of structures erected. Roads, clean water, sanitation, electricity, schools, healthcare facilities and accessible public services are fundamental to sustainable human settlements. Without these essentials, a completed house may still leave families facing serious daily challenges. The Government’s emphasis on integrated settlements is therefore significant to the achievement of Vision 2030, which requires development that improves people’s lived experiences. Effective coordination between national and local authorities, developers and utility providers will be critical to ensuring that new residential areas become functional, safe and productive communities.

ZIMBABWE MAINTAINS A SINGLE DIGIT INFLATION FIGURE Zimbabwe’s achievement in sustaining single-digit inflation for ten consecutive months stands as a notable marker of improved price stability. Annual ZiG inflation has remained below 10 percent since January 2026, with readings that have stayed modest throughout the period and reached levels as low as 2.9 percent in August. This consistency reflects disciplined monetary management and complementary policy measures that have helped anchor expectations and keep month-on-month price changes relatively contained. The result is a more predictable environment for households and businesses, supporting clearer budgeting, steadier planning, and greater confidence in the local currency. Maintaining this track record through external pressures underscores the progress made in restoring macroeconomic calm after years of volatility. @dereckgoto @SimangalisoDub5 @MatamboT97 @Twinsis50497431 @MulakazuvaL @timotonho

Beyond shelter - it's empowerment! 1M homes will transform lives, industries and communities. Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo in action! #Vision2030
ONE MILLION HOMES BY 2030, BUILDING COMMUNITIES, CREATING JOBS AND DELIVERING VISION 2030 Zimbabwe’s target to deliver one million housing units by 2030 represents a strategic national development commitment that goes beyond providing shelter. Announced by National Housing and Social Amenities Minister Professor Paul Mavima at the launch of the inaugural Home Makers Expo Zimbabwe 2026 in Harare, the programme seeks to expand access to housing, stimulate private-sector investment, create employment and strengthen local industries. Under the National Development Strategy 2 (NDS2), housing development is an important component of the broader ambition to achieve an empowered upper-middle-income society by 2030. The policy question is therefore not simply how many houses Zimbabwe can construct, but how housing can transform livelihoods, create wealth, modernise urban settlements and improve the quality of life for ordinary citizens. #NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo #Vision2030 #NDS2

HOUSING AS AN ECONOMIC MULTIPLIER Zimbabwe’s housing ambitions present an opportunity to strengthen domestic manufacturing and retain more economic value within the country. Cement, steel, roofing materials, furniture, plumbing equipment, solar systems and security products all form part of the construction value chain. Expanding local production in these sectors can create jobs, support small and medium-sized enterprises, develop technical skills and reduce unnecessary dependence on imported goods. This is where housing policy intersects with industrialisation and national wealth creation. The strategic opportunity is to ensure that housing investment expands Zimbabwean businesses, develops skilled workers and builds a stronger domestic industrial base.

PUBLIC PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS, MOBILISING CAPITAL AND UNLOCKING ENTERPRISE Government cannot sustainably meet the country’s housing requirements through public resources alone. Private developers, financial institutions, pension funds, building societies, construction companies and manufacturers have an important role to play in mobilising capital and expanding delivery capacity. Financing models and stronger public-private partnerships are essential to achieving the national target. Properly structured partnerships can accelerate land servicing, introduce modern construction technologies and spread investment risks. However, affordability must remain central. Investment incentives, predictable regulations and effective consumer protection should work together to ensure that housing development creates opportunities for citizens rather than restricting decent accommodation to high-income households. #NyikaInovakwaNeveneVayo #Vision2030 #NDS2

#Zimbabwe #EDWORKS FACT only: #ZimDiaspora your dreams can come true in Sadzaland🙏🏿 You just have to believe and embrace @Zim_Vision2030✅ This is a small piece of my own reality🙏🏿 @ZimGvt_NDS1 tinosvika chete✅ Zimbabwe is in the midst of its most significant construction boom in decades, with the sector emerging as a powerful engine of economic transformation. Latest figures show growth accelerated to 15.4 percent in 2025 and 2026, a sharp rise from around 8 percent five years ago, driven by surging public and private investment. Annual investments now exceed US3 billion, while the Zimbabwe Investment and Development Agency recorded US$2 billion in real estate commitments in the first quarter of 2026 alone. Key drivers include the government’s infrastructure programmes under the Second Republic, growing foreign direct investment, public-private partnerships, and rising diaspora remittances. Activity spans housing, roads, dams, energy, and commercial property from the near-completion of the Harare–Beitbridge Highway upgrade to the US400 million financing package secured by ZINARA for three major highways. The boom is also creating jobs across the value chain and supporting local production, with the Dinson Manhize steel plant helping reduce reliance on imported materials. Challenges remain, however. The sector faces a dual-currency squeeze that compresses margins for local material suppliers, power shortages that disrupt cement and brick production, a shortage of long-term mortgage finance, delayed payments to subcontractors, and rising input costs. A skills gap in qualified artisans has also emerged as a constraint in cities like Bulawayo. Overall, the construction boom signals restored investor confidence and tangible progress toward Vision 2030, but sustaining it will require addressing structural bottlenecks in energy, finance, and regulation to ensure the growth is broad-based and durable. Amen🛐

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT, EMPLOYMENT CREATION AND ECONOMIC GROWTH THROUGH SPORT Sport contributes to economic transformation by opening employment and entrepreneurial opportunities throughout the sporting value chain. Beyond athletes and coaches, the sector creates opportunities for sports administrators, referees, physiotherapists, fitness trainers, event organisers, sports journalists, equipment manufacturers and vendors. Sport also helps in combating drug and substance abuse through investing in sports academies and accessible training facilities that help young people transform their talents into sustainable livelihoods. Partnerships between Government, the private sector, sporting associations and educational institutions further attract investment and strengthen the commercial potential of the sector. By developing skills, encouraging entrepreneurship and supporting professional sporting careers, Zimbabwe can harness its youthful population as an engine of productivity and economic growth. This aligns with Vision 2030’s ambition of building an empowered society supported by employment, innovation and sustainable income-generating opportunities. #ZimSports #UnitedThroughSport
