Must be a slow news day. I'll also be on tonight's Front Row, gently rewriting film history. And listen out next week for the first in my ten-part Radio 4 series about the Ship of Theseus. (Spoiler alert: by time you get to episode ten, it's a completely different programme.)

Did a Scottish film 'beat Hollywood to the punch' as the first ever talkie? bbc.in/470xciX

Was Scottish film Till the Bell Rings the first ever 'talkie'?

In 1927, The Jazz Singer made movie history with the first recorded dialogue on film - but new evidence suggests the first feature talking film was Scottish.
