Literally all I do as a Maths teacher: 1- remind them what product is 2- adding 0 makes no mathematical sense 3- a decimal point doesn’t have legs and can’t move 4- column method in your head is a no no #mathschat #mathscpdchat #maths #mathsrocks

Yes I am super excited about my @IKEA glis boxes full of maths resources for each table 🤓 Tbf, the kids shared my geeky enthusiasm “There’s just everything you need!!” 😆🥰 Thanks for the idea @MissC_1717 #mathsrocks #teacher5aday

Love our maths #learningwall journeys each unit- incredible conversation and engagement. In fact I'd love one the same size for English work too! Thanks for the inspiration @TeachWithMissD hope you are still loving your new role! 😊#MathsThisWeek #MathsRocks #PrimaryRocks

Meet our school’s maths robot. We were discussing greater than, less than and equal sign when we noticed the face it created. #maths #mathschat #mathscpdchat #mathsrocks

Also, right-angled triangles are not a separate type of triangle: they’re either scalene or isosceles 🤷‍♀️💆‍♀️ #maths
I enjoy the discussions shape properties bring up, but I also ‘don’t feel right’ teaching children that circles have 1 side and spheres, cylinders and cones have a finite number of edges, faces and vertices...#teaminfinity #maths

Printing right angle ‘checkers’ onto acetate sheets made such a difference - the pupils could see underneath how much bigger any obtuse angles were #Year3 #maths #concrete #pictorial #abstract #anglesnotangels

We’re almost done with measurement in Year 3 (just capacity to go) and there’s been a lot of progress made. Brilliant use of stem sentences to explain their thinking this week too! #MathsThisWeek #PrimaryRocks #MathsRocks #MathsWorkingWall

Food fractions lesson (Y3), to consolidate ‘What’s the same and what’s different?’ about finding fractions of ONE thing and fractions of a GROUP of things. I used a variety of contexts, sizes and shapes #mathsrocks Oh and it was fun for them to eat afterwards too 🙊#realifemaths

Week 1 of Term 6 saw Year 3 return to measurement. Lots of contextual talk this week & some fantastic use of stem sentences to explain how to convert between units of measurement. They’re so ready to smash this final term of the year! #MathsThisWeek #PrimaryRocks #MathsRocks
