Today in 2008: For the first (and still only) time in World Series history, a game was suspended mid-play.
Game 5 between the Phillies and Rays at Citizens Bank Park was halted in the 6th inning with the score tied 2-2, rain pouring, and the infield literally underwater.
Carlos Peña's game-tying single splashed through a puddle to reach the outfield.
The game resumed 46 hours later on October 29, and the Phillies won 4-3 to clinch their second championship.

The initial Day 4-8 daily issuance will remain unchanged during the overnight/early morning. Background is this is the nationwide severe weather outlook covering 4 days in advance to a little more than a week ahead of time (Day 8).

The Houston Astros interviewed Oz Ocampo for an executive position within their front office, per sources.
Ocampo was previously an assistant GM with the Miami Marlins and is currently a Senior Advisor with the Colorado Rockies.
