Pray with me for @THE_REACH_SA’s annual synod beginning later today.
Cause them to be prayerful in their labours, depending on your grace and mercy, and submitting their responsibilities to your authority. Give them humility and grace, in their outward interactions, and their hearts, that they might serve Christ’s church as his faithful servants.

With my MTh students last night upon their graduation. @Matt_will_write's dissertation was on Ezekiel Hopkins' Reformed Covenant Theology in the Post-Restoration Church of Ireland, whereas @rev_boer's was on William Bates' Harmony of the Divine Attributes.
Christ-child,
High and holy, meek and lowly, God infinite become God incarnate, you have brought light to our world of darkness. Overcome by sin and shame, we behold your wondrous glory shining not from a golden throne but amidst strands of golden straw.
We marvel at the paradox: God, yet with us; holy judge, yet the one who bears our judgment; slain, yet the one whose life is ours by faith. We could not conceive a salvation such as this: it is only you, one God, glorious in trinunity, who could determine such wondrous grace.
Ezekiel Hopkins concluded that if by a condition of justification, it is meant that negatively persons cannot be justified without them, then good works are a condition of the covenant of grace…
Say not, therefore, “If I am elected, I shall be saved whether I work or not:” there is no such thing: I may boldly say, if thou art elected and dost not work, it is impossible that thy election should save thee.”
