For me, the happiest surprise of this year's #AeroHorrorthon was the 35mm print of DESTROYER, a solid '80s supernatural slasher pic I somehow hadn't seen before. The fun cast, bonkers plot and style-on-a-budget direction give it a PRISON-meets-TRICK OR TREAT vibe. Good stuff!
The first film at tonight's #AeroHorrorthon was the crowd-pleasing A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET PART 2: FREDDY'S REVENGE. The 35mm print looked great, and the sold-out audience definitely got into the spirit of this fun franchise sequel.
The fifth film at the #AeroHorrorthon was DESTROYER, an obscure 1988 prison-set thriller with echoes of Shocker and The Horror Show. Seeing this entertaining oddity in 35mm was a treat!
The sixth film at the #AeroHorrorthon was the 1976 TV movie THE SAVAGE BEES, my favorite entry in the killer bee craze! And now, as the remaining crowd stumbles bleary-eyed from the theater at 6:40 a.m., we give thanks to @am_cinematheque for another memorable horrorthon.
Now seated for tonight's 12-hour, all-night #AeroHorrorthon! The six titles are being kept secret, so we won't know what we're seeing until each film hits the screen. But I trust the folks at @am_cinematheque to deliver the gory goods. Hoping for a few vintage 35mm prints!
I revisited the wild 1982 TV movie WILL: G. GORDON LIDDY last night. I'd forgotten it starred Danny Lloyd, two years after THE SHINING, as the young, rat-eating Liddy. Robert Conrad is unhinged in one of the strangest, most psychologically twisted self-portraits ever broadcast.
Actual footage of the audience at my screening of You Can See Everything whenever Nathan Fielder appeared on screen in the first hour.

Thank You Matthew
Just when I thought I couldn't love @TulsaKing more than I already do, the great @RobertJohnDavi unexpectedly shows up in the Season 4 premiere and pulls a severed head out of a bowling ball bag in a scene reminiscent of Cimino's YEAR OF THE DRAGON. Hope we see more of Turco!

I'm about to enjoy a narrow-gauge monster rally at the @ArchivesClub microcinema, featuring FRANKENSTEIN MEETS THE WOLF MAN and HOUSE OF DRACULA both screening in 16mm!

Terrific to meet @MatthewChernov in Lone Pine last weekend! My favorite thing about festivals (and cruises!) is the great people.

It was a treat to wrap up this year's #LonePineFilmFestival by meeting classic movie blogger extraordinaire @LaurasMiscMovie, who was kind enough to snap this striking pic of me setting up a comparison shot. Same time next year, Laura!

A peek at the adorable #LonePine street parade, signalling the end of another film festival. Thanks to all who made this such a lovely weekend.
It's the final day of the #LonePineFilmFestival, and I toured locations from the 1951 Western thriller RAWHIDE! Here are several comparison shots showing how things looked 75 years ago and how they look today. (1/4)
For classic movie fans looking to visit the locations where their favorite Westerns were shot, you can't beat the #LonePineFilmFestival. (4/4)
