A thread 🧵 : The 8 Books 📚which inspired me to write "Think-Walking", my book on the relationship of #creativity with #walking.

Dear @BVUEjared and @bellevuewa City Council: anyway to get our Bellevue lawyers figuring out a way to let Boy Scouts (and Girl Scouts) sell some hot chocolate on Snowflake Lane? (No doubt there are some legal barriers, but surely there is a way… ?). I mean, these kids have engaged the political process to ask for an opportunity to work to self-fund positive outdoor activities—that checks lots of boxes! 😉
And, regarding the TBD? Bellevue has been protected somewhat by being in a local positive economic bubble, but as the recent Microsoft buyouts show, we may be deeply underestimating the downside risk. Could the bubble be bursting? For example, what happens if Amazon follows suit? What happens in Bellevue loses 5,000 higher paying tech jobs in the next 1-2 years? Is now the time to be increasing taxes, or is it the time for serious belt-tightening? A classic leadership mistake is spending future “projected” revenue not yet made… are we doing that?
“Tree-mendous!” I like that! 😉
Handing out free trees Oct. 24 proved to be a tree-mendous event, with hundreds picking up their preordered saplings at Bannerwood Park! If you want a free tree, signups for next year will be in the summer.
Thanks to the volunteers who helped get trees into cars and, of course, to our partners who make this possible -- Amazon.com and 300 Trees.

After feeding my little 🐈⬛ cat, I start my day off with a quick review of to-do lists, calendar, most important tasks, and some family photos—exactly where I left them the night before.
Next, after about an 1 1/2 hour then a little walk on the park.
Then the day starts! 😉

Enjoyed this movie. I great reminder at how unforgiving mountains 🏔️ can be, but equally how powerful the human spirit 🙏 is.

This is a rich post about #Hemingway’s #writing habits:
“A man of habit, Hemingway does not use the perfectly suitable desk in the other alcove. Though it allows more space for writing, it too has its miscellany.”
Thank you @parisreview for opening the vault! 🙏

I’m in love with this sentence:
“The strongest version of you is buried under the habits you’re afraid to break.”

Hi Jared! @BVUEjared Here’s a great summary article about the regional blood shortage. I may discuss it incidentally at the next Bellevue City Council @bellevuewa meeting within the context of Bellevue needing to become less digitally siloed, particularly when we should be looking for very low cost ways to nudge public safety and health. For example, why doesn’t Bellevue amplify actionable content from @BloodworksNW , @KCPubHealth , etc?
(Yes, I know I drone on about this 😉, but hope springs eternal)
