Becoming a full time creator has been a goal of mine ever since I started making content back in 2008. But that goal is becoming more of a reality lately because of one thing: Jestr 🙌
Jestr is a platform where you can get paid for making short form videos about indie games. You get paid $5-10 per 1k views.
BUT the best part is they COMBINE all of your views across TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube. So post 1 video across 3 platforms and all of the views are counted together🤩
Below are my monthly earnings so far for September! This may not be full-time creator money yet for me, but it's certainly helping with taking of my family. ALL thanks to @jestrgg!
If you're interested, you can apply with the link below. You do NOT need to be a big creator to get accepted. You just need to post gaming content, be consistent, and have 1k views across Reels/TikTok/YT.

Valve just told indie devs how Steam visibility actually works 👀
At Steam Indie Connect Korea, they said:
- Visibility comes from purchases and playtime, not wishlists
- "A significant number" of people at Valve are working on discovery
- They won't gatekeep games made with AI
After 10+ years in SEO, this sounds really familiar. Google and YouTube care about what happens after the click too.
If you're an indie dev, put your effort into your demo and your first hour. That's what keeps people playing, and playtime is what Steam rewards.

If you run a Discord for your channel or your game, it's about to become a Google traffic source 👀
Starting mid-December, public channels in Discoverable servers can show up in search. Think about all the questions your community answers every day. Those can start ranking.
What I'd do now:
- Set up a clean FAQ or tips channel with clear names
- Opt out any channels you want kept off Google in Server Settings > Web Presence
- Let your members know so nobody's surprised
Free discoverability you don't have to make a video for
Ever buy an Early Access game and then the updates just… stop?
I built a site to fix that 👀
active.games shows if a Steam EA game is still actually getting updated. Last patch, how consistent the devs are, recent patch notes and reviews
Free to use

Just launched a Chrome Extension for this! (Firefox coming soon)
Quickly see if a game is still being supported and if it's worth your time/money in the Steam store!

I made a free Chrome extension for Steam 👀
Open any Early Access game's store page and it tells you if it's still getting updates and how consistent the devs are
No more digging through patch notes or reviews. Now you can buy with confidence

Huge thanks to @AstroXenos for the idea 🙌 You called it on launch day
Most Early Access games slow down after the first year. These devs didn't 👀
Every game here has been in EA for over a year, is still updating, and has great reviews
They deserve some credit 🙌
Plus free roam multiplayer in ReCharge RC from @hondune, and TaleSpire from Bouncyrock still going strong
