Framer is killing the marketplace...or are they?
I wrote a brief history of the @framer marketplace.
If you're new to Framer, then I recommend you read this. If you've been here a while, this serves as a good reminder.

What I’m telling you is that, in my own situation right now, despite being "featured and trending", sales have fallen off a cliff.
Being featured doesn't seem to drive sales at all.
So the only thing I can point to is perhaps the fact that my entire template catalogue has been buried in the rankings, meaning no one is finding them.
Why have my templates been buried? Idk.
Is it because there are so many templates now? Maybe.
Could it be the new algorithm? Maybe.
The fact of the matter is, none of us have the answers.
All we can do is hope Framer can make it work somehow.
But I’d be lying if I said I’m not looking at alternative options right now.

Burned through my Framer AI credits mid-build (1,000/month goes fast), so I connected Claude to the template project instead.
Might not go back so soon. Here's what's saved me the most time so far:
- template guidelines written for specific template (I literally hated doing this manually and would procrastinate on it always)
- CMS collections created and populated with real copy
- organizing assets (components, colors, text styles) into folders so the template ships clean

I made over $300k selling @framer templates. Here is why you shouldn’t get too excited.
It's been a month since 3.0. thought to share my thoughts, maybe some people will find this valuable.
Quick stats:
- 34 published templates
- 20k+ email subscribers
- Some of my templates were and are featured after the update.
- Revenue down from 60% and keeps dropping. July looks even worse.
Framer's marketplace is becoming something else entirely. Yes, you can adapt, but it comes at a cost that is not necessarily equal to the reward. At least for me.
At this rate, marketplace will have ~40K templates in 12 months, not to mention other resources, down the road, I’d be very careful, especially if you've decided to rely on Framer's ecosystem and not to do anything else.
I keep hearing the term “Framer template business” a lot, which is very troubling. If you don’t see a clear scaling plan for your “business” looking 5 years ahead and have zero control over the mechanics, it’s a side hustle that is just working for now.
I’m actually surprised it worked for this long, but personally, I never considered it a business, and it’s far from my main revenue stream.
I’ve been selling digital goods and templates since WordPress and Bootstrap were the shit, and I can confidently tell you that the official marketplace of the tool you’re actually building templates for will always be the #1 revenue source most of the time, especially if the marketplace and tool are healthy. (Exceptions apply)
You also keep seeing “Distribution” mentioned a lot lately. This means absolutely nothing in this context.
Distribution was built from day one by most creators but, nothing comes close to the official marketplace because this is where your customers live.
Every big creator knew this from day one and always tried to create parallel distribution channels (that convert), but still, they don't compare to the marketplace traffic.
Ask yourself this: if the partner program disappeared tomorrow, would you keep grinding as much? If the answer is no, you will have a problem down the road, even if things are looking dandy now.
My personal advice: grind to make something where you can have at least some control over it and most importantly, a vision for the future.
Good luck ✌️
Most @framer templates are well optimized for mobile and tablet. But I've seen plenty that fall apart on big screens screen.
Here's a quick way how I preview and test large breakpoints:
1. Create a new breakpoint (4000px width) and name it something like "test"
2. Turn on rulers to be more precise
3. Check the alignments and how everything scales
4. Adjutst alignments, apply a max-width to sections if needed
5. Delete the breakpoint
New personal best for Morel @framer template.
Remix to published website in 26 minutes.
Built it to be easy to customize, good to see it actually holding up.

Introducing Kodama 🎉
Free @framer template for anyone launching a SaaS or startup. The idea was simple: you shouldn’t spend three weeks on a website when you could be launching your product.
So everything’s ready to go. Swap the copy, drop in your screenshots, publish.
If you check it out, a like or comment on the Framer marketplace genuinely helps.
