More and more, when I see new technologies and services, I find myself asking, "what exactly is the problem that's being solved here?". As I conclude this short blog series, I ask this question in regard to #blockchain's use in #digitalidentity.
Our Product Manager @MaxCvdP concludes that newer identity models look towards #blockchain as a trust anchor. Trust is crucial when it comes to national #digitalidentity, and this is where blockchain has the most to prove. 👇 cyber.ee/blog/2021/04-28/

Any ideas what happened here? At some point, the filament just stopped sticking together. #3dprint #3Dprinting

#blockchain can play a part in maintaining #trust, but we mustn't think it can create it. When it comes to new #DigitalIdentity models like #SSI and #DPKI, blockchain can be of value, but will it lead us down a rabbit hole?
Where does #blockchain fit in newer #digitalidentity models like #selfsovereignidentity? Our Product Manager @MaxCvdP discusses if blockchain can be a key player in maintaining trust in digital identity services which rely heavily on trust. 👉 cyber.ee/blog/2021/04-21/

So often I see #blockchain being the square peg smashed through a round hole. Groups are now looking to #DigitalIdentity as a potential application for blockchain, and so I wanted to dig down a bit and see will we need a hammer this time too? #SSI #DPKI
Should #digitalidentity and #blockchain work together? 🤔 Our Product Manager @MaxCvdP takes a look at digital ID, linked to real-world attributes such as taxes, income, insurance, and banking, and see what problems blockchain might solve. 👉cyber.ee/blog/2021/04-14/

The second part of my look into #SSI, comparing existing ways of working in the context of #dataexchange, and seeing whether this model of #digitalidentity is appropriate for the general public to use when transacting with sensitive, personal #data.
How does #dataexchange work in #selfsovereignidentity? Our #digitalidentity Product Manager @MaxCvdP explains that while SSI is pushing positive ideas like end-user control, #interoperability & data privacy,a huge risk is that users must store their data 📌cyber.ee/blog/2021/03-31/

This is an incredible example of what can be done in a very short time with the right tools and support. Congratulations, #Benin. 560 public e-services?! A fantastic accomplishment in just one year!
👏Congratulations – the national public services portal in Benin just turned 1! As we helped build it based on #UXP, we are glad to see the quick take-up of e-government services in Benin. Today, over 560 public e-services are accessible to citizens. 👉cio-mag.com/le-portail-natio…

A dive into #SSI in comparison to more established #DigitalIdentity models, trying to uncover if governments should be looking in this direction, and if not, what can we do to fulfill the needs of those interested in a more #privacy preserving digital identity solution.
What is #selfsovereignidentity and is it for governments? As it's touted as the next big thing in the #digitalidentity sphere, our Product Manager @MaxCvdP discusses if it suits #egovernment services and how trust is created in the SSI model. 📍cyber.ee/blog/2021/03-23/

"Phone numbers were never designed to be identity documents" Yet another reason for service providers to stop offering OTPs via SMS as a #2FA factor. Why do service providers do this? Is it cost? Anyone? Another great article from @briankrebs krebsonsecurity.com/2021/03/…
