“I understand giving Harry Kane the Ballon d’Or, but giving him the Gerd Müller Trophy as well when Kylian Mbappé is right there? That is unacceptable.
Mbappé finished as the top scorer in La Liga with 25 goals, the Champions League with 15 goals, and the World Cup with 10 goals. What more does a striker need to do to earn recognition?
You cannot tell me that a player who finishes as the top scorer in three of football’s biggest competitions doesn't deserve the award for the best goalscorer.
Harry Kane is a fantastic striker, but Mbappé's individual numbers deserve just as much respect. Denying him this award is unfair. If individual achievements still matter in football, then Kylian Mbappé deserves his flowers.

What hurts the most is that Mbappé had far more exceptional seasons but was denied the Ballon d’Or because he “only won Ligue 1.” Yet somehow, winning the Bundesliga alone is now enough.

Le #BallonDor pour Kane, que j’aime beaucoup, c’est vraiment le choix diplomatique ou plutôt le non choix. On ne récompense ni le top individuel (Mbappé) ni le top collectif (PSG/Espagne). Pas de sucre ni sel ni épice, c’est le plat nature.
