In the grand scheme of the things, computers are still very early, and see how far we have gone in the last couple of decades.
I also think we've barely scratched the surface of what computing could become. We're still dealing with fundamental limitations; energy consumption, heat, memory bottlenecks, hardware costs, and the way humans interact with machines.

西方民主只不过是在一群演员中选出演技最好的演员。西方民主制度的两大漏洞:1.只在选演员的过程中民主,而不是在具体决策中民主,2.智者和傻逼的投票权平等,而且傻逼在人数上有绝对优势

Stupid people play fair in a game that has always been rigged. Don’t fool yourself with rights and wrongs; there are none. Society made rules to protect itself, and we’ve been trained to obey them. If a butterfly and a bug land on your leaf, you’ll kill the bug, not the butterfly, though both are insects. Rules, norms, and laws were created by the strong to control the weak. Never follow, and never play fair.

The more intelligent you are, the less you need cunning or deception to get what you want.
Manipulation, scheming and deception are almost always a workaround for someone who lacks the actual ability to win straightforwardly.
The smartest people you know are usually the most direct. It is the lesser minds who have to compensate with games:

I spent years at Microsoft. Windows was built on ideas borrowed from Xerox PARC. PARC was ten years ahead of everybody and nobody outside Palo Alto noticed until Jobs walked out the door with it.
There's a big difference with @SuiNetwork though.
Read @kostascrypto’s list: zkLogin, post quantum, SCION for validators, proof of solvency, native multisig, Walrus, SEAL, Nautilus. What isn’t live yet can be seen in Mysten’s research papers, linked below.
Sui Threat Intelligence is scanning contracts on the network. Hashi, live on testnet, lets Sui sign transactions on the bitcoin network using a tricked out implementation of threshold Schnorr + FROST. Separately, VAA with @googlecloud was announced this month so a company can prove its AI agents did only what they were told.
No one in Silicon Valley will ever forget the lessons of PARC. The difference with Mysten is that most of this has already shipped. It’s live on Sui's 40M TPS sports car of a blockchain and most of it is open source. The world hasn’t caught up to what we’re operating here. It soon will.
As far as I know, Mysten Labs is the only blockchain company that has consistently stayed one step ahead when it comes to security best practices.
A few examples of what our cryptographers and security researchers have pioneered:
- Native multisig without additional gas costs. We deliberately designed Sui to accommodate larger transaction sizes, making multisig a first-class security feature rather than an expensive add-on. Our cryptographers were among the first to productionize advanced multisignature techniques, even before Facebook’s Libra.
- Cryptographic agility and post-quantum readiness. From pioneering production-ready stateless post-quantum signatures to developing the first backward-compatible post-quantum solutions, our team has consistently pushed the boundaries. This includes enabling cryptographic upgrades and key rotation while preserving the same blockchain address (afaik the first crypto agility design in decentralized ledgers is attributed to my team).
- Modern hardware wallet security. We’ve recently taken additional steps to incentivize startups to build the next generation of secure hardware wallets. With what we see in the market, this is one way.
- AI-powered vulnerability detection. Sui was the first blockchain to introduce AI-driven bug detection through BugDar, back then presenting at Google’s Next conference. We knew AI would mess up security.
- Recovering the seemingly unrecoverable. We created KelpMe, introducing innovative approaches to recovering assets after mnemonic loss or accidental transfers to incorrect addresses, problems traditionally considered practically impossible to solve. KelpMe also won the Bybit Hackathon, demonstrating the real-world potential of this innovation.
- Zero-knowledge authentication as a first-class primitive. We went far beyond using ZK for privacy or scaling. With innovations such as zkLogin and ZEE-CAT, and for a while the most used ZK app in the planet, we demonstrated how zero-knowledge cryptography could fundamentally transform authentication.
- Proofs of solvency and exchange accountability. Undeniably, we’re the leaders. Our cryptographers designed some of the most advanced proof-of-solvency protocols and identified critical weaknesses in approaches used by major exchanges and auditing firms.
- World-class academic research at startup speed. Mysten Labs has systematically pushed the boundaries of academic research productivity, achieving publication records that are extraordinary for a startup. Our researchers reached an incredible milestone of 5 papers accepted at ACM CCS and 4 at Financial Cryptography (FC) in the same year, two of the world’s most prestigious venues in cybersecurity and applied cryptography. And so many best paper awards.
- Binary transparency with Walrus sites and crypto guard. Reality is we should have pushed further making it the standard for any crypto website, but at the same time we indeed genuinely try to fix the internet.
- Scion from our Swiss team, IMO the future of internet communication, kill DoS, native packet protection.
That’s a phenomenal achievement even for established university research groups, let alone a startup simultaneously building and securing a major blockchain ecosystem.
And these are just a few examples.
When you consider the size of our team and the breadth of its contributions, even compared with the much larger Ethereum ecosystem, I genuinely believe Mysten Labs has been one of the most impactful organizations in blockchain cybersecurity, with innovations that are applied in the whole financial sector.
What makes this particularly remarkable is that we didn’t just publish research or build theoretical solutions. We repeatedly turned cutting-edge cryptographic research into production systems, often years ahead of broader industry adoption. No other org ever came close to that. Now with the AI vision of Evan, Mysten will do more miracles 🤞

Most reward campaigns tell you how to earn points. Ours works differently!
Everyone starts with the same OmniUSD balance, and your balance is your score.
Build your own strategy, grow it as much as possible, and earn a bigger share of the $100K reward pool 👀

This is something I used to ask myself until I realised that we live in a low-trust society.
It's often easier to scam Westerners precisely because they come from high-trust societies, and we mistake that trust for stupidity.
Take the US, for example. You can print your own check, deposit a check by simply taking a picture with your banking app, and even start using some of the money before the check has fully cleared. You don't even have to visit a bank.
Compare that with most parts of Africa, where something as simple as forgetting your banking app password can mean physically visiting a bank branch with all your identification documents.
We have become so accustomed to suspicion and distrust that we mistake our cunningness for intelligence and other people's trust for foolishness.
We think we are smarter because we are harder to fool, without realising that we have built societies where nobody trusts anybody.

All of us at Marvel Studios are deeply saddened by the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart. Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from "X-Men" to "Logan" to "Avengers: Doomsday." He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.
We’re helping run a contest for AI-written books with Prix Thélyson-Orélien, with the winner being decided by a Prediction Market on Seer.
The contest takes its name from the novelist Thélyson-Orélien, whose book was removed from the Goncourt longlist amid allegations that AI wrote it.
This contest flips the idea on its head and invites participants to submit AI-written books for a grand prize of $5,000.

As a Norwegian studying political science, I agree with you. Our systems rely on the goodwill of politicians as long as people are not informed enough to vote rationally, which we know is not the case. As long as the entire voting pool is not democratically minded democracy is a fraud. People vote mostly based on what their acquaintances vote or which politician is most relatable personality wise, not at all based on policy. Democracy as long as there is capital, as long as people are afraid for their livelihood, and as long as we do not all counciously agreeing on what is the point of democracy, is a distraction from actually taking responsibility and considering your own and your communities needs. We get to free ourselves of responsibility and lay it on the elected politicians, while there is no guarantee that they are actually responsible. It is a philosophical farce with no actual root in reality. When you ask people what they voted (which i do often) most people excuse their answer: "but I don't know that much about politics". Democracy is just market reliance at this point and most markets are not free.
