Itโs almost Christmas, so Iโll be posting some games to play to get into the Christmas spirit.
Dusting off a festive hidden gem from 2009: We Wish You a Merry Christmas for the Nintendo Wii! ๐ Dive into a cheerful collection of holiday-themed mini-games and activities, like bowling elves down Candy Cane Lanes as Santa, catching bouncing presents in Present Catch, racing in Reindeer Games, dashing through the snow in Santa's Sleigh, matching ornaments in Deck the Halls, and moreโall with motion controls that make you shake, point, and swing the Wii Remote amid twinkling lights, snowy scenes, and classic Christmas carols. Unlock daily surprises with the in-game Advent calendar, write letters to Santa, sing along to beloved tunes, and cozy up with a virtual yule log. Perfect for family gatherings, quick holiday fun, and that warm, merry multiplayer nostalgia!

One of the lesser told Tetris stories is that of Vladimir Pokhilko, who worked with Alexey Pajitnov on the game and later co-created Hatris.
This is a 3 part documentary from Discovery that challenges the established narrative he murdered his whole family before killing himself.

No game this week but a book!
The Perfect Game is Henk Rogers' 1st person account of the Tetris story. Probably not the best place to start if you're not already familiar with the tale as it doesn't cover what the other parties were up if he didn't experience it first-hand!

The game plays fine on a Super Game Boy, taking full advantage of it's enhanced colour capabilities. But if you have a Super Game Boy then you'd be better off just playing the Super Famicom's native version instead!

Hello Kitty inhabits a strange universe, where Tetriminos grow as flowers...
Tetris x Hello Kitty is a browser based version of Tetris, previously available to play on the Tetris website completely free of charge. It can still be played via the Wayback Machine, link in alt text.
