It's not an easy time for coaches and athletes. Thanks to @DrakeSoftball Coach Rich Calvert and @MandiRoemmich2 for talking to me. I'll have their story at 10 on @weareiowa5news. I think coach Calvert summed up every sports fan's feeling about having no sports with this bite⬇️

The respect @XaMan_10 and @bowenborn13 have for one another is awesome to see. No better example than Xavier picking up Bowen after a block while play goes on. Born w/ 47 points, Foster w/ 38 @Norwalk_Pride @OskyActivities should be proud of these two young men. @weareiowa5news

I've known Joel McCrea for 25 years. He's a straight shooter who owns his mistakes, and he just turned a big one into a huge win for our company, our staff and listeners, and the community we built our station on. I'm very thankful to have him as a boss, mentor, and friend.

Today we talked with @DrakeWBB about tomorrow's MVC opener against UNI. But this soundbite to end the presser really stood out. I asked @DrakeCoachJB how the holidays were. Her answer really showcases the balance of family and work for a coach. #Local5Sports @weareiowa5news

People arguing whether it's a catch or not tells you all you need to know. There was not indisputable evidence to change the call on the field. That's the issue here. They call it incomplete on the field and stick to it. There is far less argument. – at Minnesota, USA

Didn't really know "Moose" outside of running some of his highlights back in his High School. What I can tell though, Canyon was as good of a person as they come who made everyone else around him better. Thanks to @earlhamathletic for helping me share his story.
