Wow! @HiltonColumbus making the right call not to fleece guests due to @springsteen postponement. Where you at @MarriottBonvoy? Moxie Short North saying too bad. Maybe I’m Born to Run from my Marriott status over to @HiltonHotels

With delays, will return stamps from the 11 AM session be honored later than the original 4:59 PM? @CincyTennis

Cel and I shared a love of @springsteen . We often talked of wanting to see him together live. That never happened. In the Boss’s words, Chief, I hope someday I get to see you “further up the road.” Much love, and may you Rest In Peace.//

You learn a lot about someone over that many meals in 7 and a half years. Cel was not perfect. He would tell you that. But his heart was huge. And he never stopped trying to make the world a better place. He embodied the Lorain spirit - from childhood to becoming chief. 4/

To Elba - this is much too soon. Cel and I always talked of his retirement and the time he wanted to spend with you. To his children and extended family - he loved you very much. Early in my tenure, Cel and I began have breakfast at least once a month. 3/

Cel always strived for a better Lorain. His care for his team was unmatched, and he worked everyday to create simultaneously a safer Lorain and a better work environment for his officers. He often shared his love of family and how important they were to him. 2/

So sad to hear the news of Chief’s passing. This was our last press conference - my last as mayor and his retirement announcement. In 7 and a half years, I was able to work alongside and get to know Cel Rivera the manager, the street cop, and the human being. 1/

Snazzy!
