India plans to add 75,000 medical seats by 2029. But has anyone thought about what happens to these graduates? MBBS doctors are struggling to find decent employment and PG opportunities, while unauthorised allopathic practice continues unchecked. According to estimates attributed to the Indian Medical Association (IMA), India has over 10 lakh quacks. Yet, illegal medical practice, including allopathic practice beyond the authorised scope by some BAMS/BHMS practitioners, remains a serious concern. Where is the enforcement? Where is the accountability? Where is the employment roadmap? Mr Nadda, why is the government focused on producing more doctors without addressing unemployment, PG bottlenecks, illegal medical practice and the declining quality of medical education? India needs more doctors, but it also needs jobs, strict regulation, quality training and a functional healthcare system. More medical seats without workforce planning are not healthcare reform.

Bitter truth! Big hospitals or small hospitals, many are recruiting BHMS/BAMS practitioners for patient care in emergency departments and ICUs, where patients’ lives are at risk if they are treated by someone without the required qualifications or authorization. People need to be aware of who is treating them during an emergency. Why is there no strict action against such practices? The government takes action against small BHMS/BAMS clinics, but why do similar concerns in big hospitals often go unaddressed? Rules should be the same for everyone, regardless of how big or reputed a hospital is. Patient safety should be the priority, not business. This is wrong at so many levels!

Normal life: Study hard, crack NEET UG, do MBBS, study hard again for NEET PG, take multiple drops, finally get MD, study another 3 years, crack NEET SS, do DM… and then start practising, hoping patients don’t suffer because of your mistakes. Mentos life 💀: Chill, get into BHMS/BAMS, clear exams, start practising Allopathy without having knowledge, get married and enjoy life.

Eye Opener Fact: Many Private Medical colleges don't have Basic Laproscopic Machines in Surgery department and Many Radio department have only USG machines, Choose wisely, go and see college yourself. Don't rely on Website data and that's a fact.

Select Private colleges very wisely, there are many colleges who take fines for a very small mistakes and also they give you stipend online and take it back via cash as I heard of. So choose wisely.

And let's be fair: We cannot claim that all these deaths had the same cause. But repeated serious incidents involving young doctors should trigger a serious institutional reviews. If everything is fine — prove it. If there are systemic problems — fix them.

Don't just ask: “Why did this doctor die?” Ask: “What kind of system are we creating where young doctors repeatedly reach a point of crisis?” Residency can be demanding without being dehumanising. Investigate. Listen. Fix what is broken.
