Excused absence vs. Unexcused Absence..."What do you mean?!"
It doesn't mean that we don't believe your child needs to be home. Think of it as an 'allowed' absence such as, they have a fever, they are vomiting, they are feeling under the weather etc. Six are allowed each term.
Some examples include a dentist appointment, an illness that you felt required a doctor's visit, a driving test, a college visit, religious holiday, or a documented chronic illness.
Check out your student's school handbook for more info and Medfield.net for illness guidelines. Feel free to email your school nurse with questions. Hope this helps!
Lot's of activity in the nurse's office this week. Dale St is starting health screenings; Blake is continuing their health screenings; and MHS is finishing the orientation of a new substitute nurse, Katie Henebry. Welcome to school nursing Mrs. Henebry! #medfieldps #schoolnurse

Memorial students learning about hand washing & germs; so timely!!! Thanks Mrs. Maguire, school nurse, for going into the classrooms & helping students learn how to stay healthy.

Lots of flu and colds going around. You may have heard about Norovirus in the news as well, aka the stomach flu. Very contagious and hand washing with soap and water is necessary as opposed to hand sanitizer. Here's some more info:
