Solutions to homelessness are often less visible than homelessness itself. The fact is, the Bay Area is facing the problem and innovating to meet the dire need we all see.

CA must preserve existing affordable homes & keep Californians in their communities as a strategy to address the affordable housing shortage. HCD just launched a Housing Preservation Portal to better track & support affordable property owners at risk of losing affordability. 1/4

ALT Image of Objective 1 of the the CA Statewide Housing Plan. The Plan has 3 objectives to ensure everyone has a safe, stable, and affordable home. Objective 1 is to keep Californians in their homes by preventing renters from being evicted and support renters facing eviction, support homeowners facing foreclosure, preserve subsidized and non-subsidized affordable housing and keep renters in their homes.

Today I visited 711 Post, one of two shelters opening next week that will provide 430 more beds for people experiencing homelessness. Housing is the solution to homelessness, but shelter is critical to get people safe, off the street, and connected with resources and services.

Thanks to @FortuneMagazine for including @Meeksmoss in their roundup of CEO statements on overturning #Roe... but they ID'd All Home as a home renovation company! If that's what it takes to get more attention on the issue, so be it. fortune.com/2022/06/24/ceos-…

Overturning Roe v. Wade is nothing short of white supremacist patriarchy. Congress must act to enshrine reproductive rights as the law of the land. Until then, Oakland will always defend and protect women's health and our human rights.

Today, the Supreme Court not only reversed nearly 50 years of precedent, it relegated the most intensely personal decision someone can make to the whims of politicians and ideologues—attacking the essential freedoms of millions of Americans.

27 school shootings in US this year. 0 in Japan. 0 in UK. 0 in France. 0 in Germany. 0 in Australia. American kids pleading with us to help. How do we protect our 2nd amendment & our kids at the same time? Can we raise our age limit to 21? Can we ban assault weapons? What else?
Now Praying for the families of Texas. So sad & horrible. When do we ban military assault weapons? US can follow the lead of New Zealand in banning these military weapons of war. NZ parliament voted 119-1 ban these weapons after their horrible massacre. xitter.cf/benioff/status/1155958…
