I just saw an intentional walk in a Little League World Series game. I’m not sure there’s anything more pathetic that a coach can do in kids’ sports.

.@NESN showing a recorded interview while a run is scored reminds me of the joke about dorks at the baseball HOF complaining that the Hall library is closed so staff can watch the World Series. “Why watch a game when there’s all this stats and history to enjoy?!” So so dumb.

What’s worse is they STICK with the interview - telling us Tom Caron talking about last night’s game (guh) is more entertaining than the live one happening now.

There’s no need for “But” in the 2nd sentence.
Moms for Liberty, a national right-wing advocacy group, was born in Florida as a response to Covid-19 school closures and mask mandates. But scandals and losses are threatening its power. nyti.ms/3tc4JXf

it’s telling that people are crying out “we need a POTTY BREAK” for KILLERS, a movie that demands something of the viewer emotionally and intellectually, but don’t blink an eye at the comparable runtimes of ENDGAME or THE BATMAN.

The last scene of SHORT TERM 12. Including the flag in the scene really grabbed me.
Name a movie scene with the American flag in it. 🇺🇸 I'll start: The opening scene of Patton (1970) starring George C. Scott as Gen. Patton delivering a speech with the Stars and Stripes in the background.

One of my favorite movies and certainly the greatest John Sayles film. A perfect ending.
#NowWatching LONE STAR. Some films by John Sayles are so hard to find!

My favorite movie.
Director Barry Levinson auditioned about 600 actors for the five lead roles in DINER. The cast spent a week together to build the camaraderie needed for the ensemble. All the diner scenes were shot at the end of production when the bond between the actors was at its strongest.

I’ll say this again: I thoroughly enjoyed EVERYTHING, EVERYWHERE but do not understand the acting accolades. I wish I got it.
