I didn't read many VNs in 2025 but here's my winners for each category. I had a really hard time between ef. and Robotics;Notes but I think the overall experience edged it out for me. Grisaia also just insanely funny with great characters.

It's really sad what's going on in the VN community. Someone I considered as friend did some horrible things and it absolutely should not have happened. I'm really sorry for the victims they had to experience something like this.

And I'm especially sad that person who I considered a great friend is defending it. He should have the dignity to stand with the victims but that's not the case unfortunately...

Not the news I wanted to wake up to. Jun Maeda made some of the best and heartwrenching stories in this medium. Just because he writes tragedies that doesn't mean he should get into one, life is cruel. Sincerely hoping and praying for Maeda's health, fuck cancer.

Fuck you Riot for fucking this up as well. Literally had the most fun in YEARS and things were promising but the limited champ pool, rune grinding just really made people abandon it in a few games. Only a few dedicated people were playing it sadly but it was still fun.

Mahoyo is so highly regarded and it's probably the least interesting Type Moon VN and it's pretty average other than the production value.
