How many Hudson County Sheriff's officers does it take to stop drivers from illegally blocking crosswalks in Journal Square? More than three apparently...
The new JC ShopRite has been open about 10 seconds and people are already parking in the bike lanes. Everything is going great over here 🙄
File under "anti-homeless policies make life worse for everyone": I was trying to get a Newark-bound @NJTRANSIT_NEC train at New Brunswick this evening. Got to the station and found all the doors locked! No signs about how to access the platform! 1/
Obviously the stair/escalator access to the east-bound platform is closed because they don't want unhoused people to have access to the station. So they've just made it worse for everyone. And then failed to actually tell riders how to get to their trains. 4/
I cannot get over how much contempt @NJTRANSIT shows for its riders, especially those who commute outside of standard commuting hours. After all these years, I know I shouldn't be surprised. But I still am. 5/5
Today in @NJTRANSIT treats riders like crap and makes it impossible and dangerous for kids to use mass transit: I was helping a group of high schoolers and their chaperone board a train at Newark Penn. 1/
Hey @NJTRANSIT tell me why your bus drivers are in the habit of not stopping for riders who are hailing the bus at a marked bus stop. Second day in a row the same 72 bus failed to make its second stop despite multiple riders trying to flag it down. And today I have video!
And as a parent who travels with young children on mass transit, I am now terrified that this could happen while I am traveling with my children. What is to stop a conductor from closing the doors with my children on the train and me on the platform?? 5/

The featured stop sign here is in front of my kids' school and I swear I did a little jig when it went up. Dangerous T-intersection much-improved by an all-way stop. Might be one of the best things JC government had ever done for my daily life and safety!
Just a reminder that cops in Jersey City do not see pedestrian safety as part of their job. I asked a cop stuck in traffic to address a van that was parked on the sidewalk and creating a hazard to pedestrians. They said not their job. Wouldn't even radio for someone to address it
So sad about this news. What fun it's been to watch Coach Berube's teams over these past 7 seasons. Thanks for the memories, Coach.

Today's adventures in trying to ride @NJTRANSIT buses: waiting for the 119 in the Heights for the last 10 minutes. There should be a bus every 10 minutes. After showing the scheduled buses, the app is currently showing a 29 minute wait.
