Cat in my house for the first time in very long time. No project to put him on the keyboard for. #TestingSoftware

Hello software testing peeps. It’s been awhile. I’ve been playing Wordle like everyone else. Curious: is it common for testers to solve this game sooner than others?

The #IowaCaucusDisaster teaches us that testing matters. Not just unit tests & data integrity tests, real world exploratory testing. Hypothesis testing. Design testing. You must have someone willing to challenge assumptions and push for proof. nytimes.com/2020/02/03/us/po…
This may be my favorite #Entrepreneurship post/thread of 2020, we’ll see if anything unseats it in the coming months.
Reply to this with the name of a fake startup and I’ll write an ad for it in the style of an NYC subway campaign.
The heyday of custom software is over (sorry if that’s news to you) and it’s time to be much more intentional, smart, and focused on HUMAN problems. Design—more importantly user fit—is crucial to making software. Good design is a must. teapawt.net/ronjeffries/status/120…
It’s good to have a good space to work. Thanks @collectiveidea

The future of software & tech is human focused. I believe in BDD, exploratory testing, and all other human focused techniques. apple.news/AA4AZAlLXSI-jYgJ4…
Tech culture must change. Will you support a voice willing to speak up? Will you be a voice?

You are.
Yes you are always growing, and yes you may be flawed and imperfect, but my goodness you are enough.
Real. And deserved.
can somebody please confirm that this is actually happening and that I'm not just making this up

No. This is not OK. Don't make me say that errors are OK. They aren't. They are expected, but not OK. @DisneyPlus – at Mesa, AZ

Agile art class? Saw this in a high school art room. Turns out the teacher’s husband is a software dev.

When you’re too tall vs too short for the stand up desks. Same blocks, different uses. Nevertheless we pair.

Look I don’t want to be “The Peloton Ad Guy” anymore but the newest commercial about the vlogging 116 lb woman’s YEARLONG fitness journey to becoming a 112 lb woman who says “I didn’t realize how much this would change me” is just ri-god-damn-diculous. Come on.

What is one thing you did at a retrospective that really helped you tease out a learning opportunity?
Looking for some iOS dev friends that might have a clue.... Can't locally, consistently reproduce a problem that Apple reviewers are encountering with universal links. Reboot & reinstall fixed it locally and we can't just tell the App Store reviewers to "try rebooting it" 🤣

Yes. Yes. Yes. Exploratory testing is vital to keeping the egg off your face.
“I would consider it a red flag if a team isn't doing exploratory testing at all - even if their automated testing was excellent”, amen! martinfowler.com/bliki/Explo…
Btw, I moved my political stuffs to @MelBPoliticking because it’s really distracting from my real passion of geek life. It deserves attention but not unbridled attention.
I can’t explain how good it is to work at @collectiveidea — to have a boss who just gets it. I’m trusted to manage my work & life all mixed together. To have local belonging and freedom to work remote. There is magic here.
