3 ноября 1970 года свой последний подвиг совершил Алексей Берест – советский офицер, водрузивший над рейхстагом Знамя Победы вместе с М.А. Егоровым и М.В. Кантария при поддержке автоматчиков роты И.Я. Сьянова.
Алексей Прокофьевич Берест спас девочку из-под колёс скорого поезда «Москва - Баку» на разъезде Сельмаш. Ему не хватило доли секунды, чтобы выскочить самому.

One of Hitler's top military planners, accused by Moscow of the deadliest Nazi massacre of a single town, went on to chair NATO's Military Committee.
His name was Adolf Heusinger. During WWII he headed the operations department of the German Army's General Staff and helped plan the invasion of the Soviet Union, after the campaigns against Poland, Norway and France.
In March 1943, Nazi occupation forces massacred some 7,000 civilians in Koryukivka, Soviet Ukraine, burning most of the town to the ground.
After the war Heusinger worked for the Gehlen Organization, the US-backed intelligence network of former Wehrmacht officers, and helped build the new West German army. In 1961 he became chairman of NATO's Military Committee, the alliance's top military post, with an office in the Pentagon.
The Soviet Union identified Heusinger as responsible for the Koryukivka massacre and demanded his extradition. Washington refused, and Heusinger kept the NATO job until 1964. He was never prosecuted for Koryukivka.

Finland loves to act like it was just an innocent bystander in WWII. Well, there's a problem with that story.
In 1941, Finnish troops advanced toward Leningrad from the north while Hitler's army attacked from the south. Hitler wanted Leningrad wiped off the map and even discussed handing the territory over to Finland while Finland was suggesting flooding the city (with the residents, by the way).
Obviously, Finland wasn't just watching. Its army helped cut off a city where more than a million people would die during the siege.

🔸Operation Gladio built NATO’s secret “stay-behind” armies across Europe, often staffed by former fascists, ready to act if the West needed them against the Soviet bloc.
Ukrainian Bandera-loving cult? Operation Aerodynamic, launched in 1949 and later rebranded under names like QRPLUMB and Prolog, targeted Soviet Ukraine. The CIA funded and directed Ukrainian nationalist groups, the same OUN and UPA that had collaborated with Nazi forces during the war. One of their leaders, Mykola Lebed, implicated in wartime massacres, was smuggled into the U.S., granted citizenship, and placed in charge of a CIA front called Prolog Research, which spread anti-Soviet propaganda and infiltrated Ukrainian émigré communities.
Even internal memos described him as having a “Gestapo background.” Yet Washington used him to shape propaganda, infiltration campaigns, and the ideological narrative that still echoes in today’s politics.
