In 1990s #Serbia President #Vucic was:
☠️ #Minister of #Milošević regime, responsible for #WarCrimes & #Genocide in 🇧🇦🇽🇰🇭🇷.
☠️ was even filmed in #Sarajevo during #Siege.
Now in 2026 he buries #Mladic, the #ButcherOfSrebrenica, with full state honors! edition.cnn.com/2026/08/28/e… – at Kosovo
Kosovo did not expect President Zelensky to recognise it while visiting Belgrade. The concern was his apparent endorsement of Serbia’s claim over Kosovo and the use of international law to justify it.
The visit to Serbia was understandable. Ukraine must pursue its interests. What was difficult to understand in Kosovo was why President Zelensky chose to reassure one of Moscow’s closest partners in the Balkans at the expense of a society that has stood firmly with #Ukraine.
In this short paper, our colleague @Danlazi tries to explain why Kosovo’s case—shaped by a UN-led status process, the Ahtisaari proposal and the ICJ opinion—cannot be compared with Russia’s seizure of Ukrainian territory.
I also examine Kosovo’s support for Ukraine, Serbia’s commitments under the EU-facilitated dialogue, and the diplomatic failures that left Kosovo’s position poorly understood in Kyiv.
Kosovo should continue supporting the Ukrainian people while challenging this inaccurate framing.

🎉 KCSS at 18: Building Accountable Security Sectors; Promoting Peacebuilding
Today marks 18 years 🎂 since the founding of the Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS)—a period defined by independent research, critical policy engagement, and a strong commitment to democratic security governance and peacebuilding.
Established in April 2008 in Prishtina, KCSS began when Kosovo had no dedicated security think tank, driven by the belief that security must be accountable and serve citizens. Over the years, KCSS has become a respected security research centre in Kosovo, the Western Balkans, and beyond.
📊 18 years in numbers
📑 247 publications influencing national, regional, and European discussions
🔖6+ thematic programmes addressing various security challenges
🤝 250+ partner institutions across 20+ countries
📝 Contributions to national strategies, EU consortia, and global policy forums KCSS has progressed from monitoring Kosovo’s first security institutions to participating in EU research and global policy initiatives, becoming a regional and international voice on security, peace, and governance.
We appreciate our researchers, partners, donors, and supporters who have joined us throughout this journey. 18 years. 247 publications.

📢 In an article published by The Guardian titled “Meet Gen X: middle-aged, enraged and radicalised by internet bile,” Gaby Hinsliff mentioned the #SmidgeProject as one of the few initiatives examining how conspiracy theories and disinformation spread among middle-aged adults.
The article discusses the growing evidence that Generation X are increasingly exposed to and influenced by online misinformation, yet remain an under-researched demographic in this field.

Our latest infographic reveals that:
🔹Dialogue at the local level counters division, strengthens resilience, and proves that peace is more than a vision - it’s a reality being shaped step by step.
🔹Through the KoRelate – Kosovo Interethnic Relations Monitor, KCSS documents positive examples of dialogue and cooperation that counter polarization and promote trust among communities. These initiatives show that peace is not just an aspiration but a reality built step by step.

The Kosovar Centre for Security Studies (KCSS) has released its latest monitoring report on interethnic relations in Kosovo (Jan–Sep 2025), under the KoRelate platform.
📌 The findings highlight a fragile balance between confrontation and cooperation:
⚠️ Worrying trends: mistrust, nationalist symbolism, and external influence.
🤝 Positive developments: judicial accountability, civil society dialogue, and resilient institutions.
📍 Hotspots: Serb-majority municipalities in the north, symbolic spaces, and youth mobilization.
The report underscores the importance of inclusive policies, early warning mechanisms, and international support to maintain peace and stability.
