ALT Wip Wednesday Story Card for my new Hualian Fic "Corner is Gold, Side is Silver, Center is Grass."

ALT Story Summary Card that reads: Meet Xie Lian. 26. Single. Chronic lung condition. Now, he’s a professional Weiqi player, but back then, he was Class Three’s Biggest Loser. And this loser has nursed an eight-year-long crush on Class Golden Child, Hua Cheng, who is now one of Xianle City’s most famous—or infamous—criminal defense attorneys. In the wake of a championship game, Xie Lian receives an impromptu invitation to a class reunion. Believing this to be his one chance to finally show Class Three that he’s not the same sickly kid they remember, and maybe make that love connection he’s been longing for, Xie Lian is devastated when Hua Cheng arrives with a silver wedding ring on his finger. But when an intimate conversation in the dark leads to a surprise kiss and a tempting proposition, Xie Lian, who has spent his life predicting outcomes and calculating risk on the weiqi board, thinks he knows exactly what kind of game he and Hua Cheng are playing. He’s never been more wrong.

ALT Illustrated red ink wash fanfic book cover depicting Xie Lian and Hua Cheng from Heaven Official's Blessing/TGCF leaning toward each other over a weiqi board. On the left, Xie Lian has his hair styled in a loose bun, and he's wearing black slacks and a white, high-collared, ruffled shirt with lace cuffs; one hand is gently tugging a few strands of black hair. On the right, Hua Cheng, with his hair down, is wearing a red dress shirt and black slacks. They both smile faintly at one another, their lips meeting in an almost-kiss. Both men's hands rest on the board that is strewn with red and white flower petals. Xie Lian's hand touches a white stone while a red stone rests between Hua Cheng's hands. The side of the table where the weiqi board sits is also strewn with red and white flower petals. On the right side lays a red flower. Author name "Charis" is in the upper right hand corner, and the title, "Corner is Gold, Side is Silver, Center is Grass" occupies the middle space.
