AWI’s 2025-2028 Strategic Plan is now available.
After extensive consultation and feedback from both the Wool Industry Consultation Panel (WICP) and Woolgrower Consultation Group (WCG), AWI’s strategy has been defined.
Key priorities for 2025-2028 will fall under two pillars:
1. Grow demand and fibre advocacy
2. Sustainable and profitable wool-growing
Grow demand and fibre advocacy encompasses demand creation, fibre advocacy - International legislation and market share, product innovation and emerging markets.
Sustainable and profitable wool-growing will include research, productivity and profitability, environmental and financial sustainability, and wool harvesting.
We believe to be effective, accountable, and productive, good consultation is essential. As a company owned by Australian woolgrowers, AWI’s activities – including the Strategic and Annual Operating plans – are directly driven by the wool industry, reflecting consultation with woolgrowers, industry and other key stakeholders including government.
If you would like to provide feedback on the Strategic Plan, please contact Kevin Wilde, General Manager of Consultation and Engagement.

Autumn lambing?
Here are some pre-lambing breeding daily ewe energy requirements for your consideration. 🧐
SRW 60 kg, CS 3 (to maintain)
Day 120 of pregnancy
Single 14.4 MJ/day
Twin 17.7 MJ/day
Day 10 of lactation
Single 21.5 MJ/day
Twins 26.9 MJ/day
Day 30 of lactation - peak requirements! 📈
Single 23.2 MJ/day
Twins 29.6 MJ/day
Proactive feed budgeting is important, as is maintaining sheep condition score in the lead up to lambing, ensuring optimal lamb birthweight, along with a productive lactation, getting lambs off to a good start.
🎯CS targets for singles at lambing is CS 3 and for twins is CS 3.3.
Be sure to reach out to your trusted advisor if you are wishing to refine your feed budget.
