Last Night in Soho’ turns 5 today. To celebrate this mini-milestone, here’s some concept art for Marcus Rowland’s amazing production design on the movie. This art was done by a talented human, Mr Paul Threadgold. You can see how we turned Goodge Place back to the ’60s, how we created the period Café de Paris on a soundstage, the fictitious Rialto club, an unnamed basement clip joint, and how we sent stretches of Greek, Frith and Bateman Streets in real Soho back in time. It’s been so lovely to read some of your comments on ‘Last Night in Soho’ this week. I remain very proud of the movie, both for the realization of some ambitious worlds and for the wonderful time I spent with this cast and crew. Those of you who saw it on the big screen when it was first released, I applaud you, especially with in the middle of an Omicron spike. But I do not begrudge anyone who came to it later, either.
