This game showed me how many people are not actually engaging with sidequests in these games and it saddens me to know how much they are missing out.
Here, the perfect Smash DLC roster. Keep everyone in the current roster and add some of these. No one can tell me I'm wrong.

People still trying to act like Xenoblade is anything more than a JRPG for people with Sonic autism
Nearly forgot I had this Xenoblade item tucked away. I will never understand what the intended use for this cloth Melia is supposed to be.
I better not see Nata haters all of a sudden like Nata because he's grown up now. Going to be the same shit that happened to Rex and his timeskip. Nata and Rex were always the goats.

Rex is such a misunderstood character. They don't give him enough credit. People who immediately switched up and called him cool because of Future Redeemed are larpers.

Jin was a great antagonist and a tragic character.
In the same way as Rex, I didn’t think I would like Jin as an antagonist, but I think he’s become my favorite in my Xenoblade experience so far.
Jin is a product of the world he lives in. An inevitable result caused by the cycle of Blades and the loss of identity.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 asks the question of what do you do when given immortality, yet, lose the memories that immortalize life, lose your identity? What do you say to a person who yearns for the finality of death when there’s seemingly no answer in life?
That’s Xenoblade 2’s ultimate question and it’s presented in the most grounded and relatable manner through Torna, but especially Jin.
What a character.
Can I also just gush about how awesome this party of characters are? This is a PEAK JRPG family right here.
Something that compelled me with this party is their dynamic with Rex, how each of them progressively becomes more inspired by Rex’s unrelenting optimism and hope.
It could be seen as corny and typical, but It’s great here, endearing - it exposes the wounds in the hearts of each character who encounters him and allows them to heal—they’re able to allow themselves to believe in a future.
Rex is a character I didn’t think I’d enjoy at first. He seemed typical, and at first, that’s how it is. However, Rex reaches a point in the story that makes him reflect after experiencing loss after loss. Even with incredible power, he still fails. Even as a beacon to others, he struggles to find his own guiding light when he falters.
Others are there to try to steer him back on track, but ultimately, it’s up to him to realize his real strength is in his altruism. A core human condition where, in Alrest, has been dwindling along with the decline of the world.
It’s when he fully embraces that consideration for others and the full weight of being a Driver that he truly comes into his own as a Master Driver.
Rex and his relationship with the party reminds me so much of Zidane and gang from FF9, one of my favorites. How the protagonist seemingly acts as the beacon to inspire, but all along it was the protagonist who needed that guidance.
His answer to the plight of Alrest and Blades alike that while the cycle may continue that memory perpetuates life to lead and guide those who come after, even in a world set in the belief that life is meaningless. Rex is great because he’s the ideal human condition.
