Why we're NOT fading @Portalcoin / $portal A PixelSaurus® MEGApost 🦕🦖🌋 Having been in the #Web3 space for 2+ years now, there have been plenty of opportunities for us to take part in airdrops and engagement incentives. Truth is; many of them fail to deliver, and, in truth, they've never really grabbed our attention due to very little substance beyond the token itself. How many times have we all heard the words "mass onboarding" for Web3 in Twitter Spaces? We all pontificate about "what" will be the catalyst, but time and time again, gaming is ALWAYS the biggest hat that's constantly thrown in the ring. Games like Fortnite or Forza already have the basics that could bring the masses into blockchain gaming. Users already know how to set up an account, keep track of their inventory and have (at least) a basic knowledge of account security. So it's not exactly a massive leap for gamers - and studios - to shift from Web2 to Web3. Enter PortalCoin and their mission to connect Web3 gamers between any game on any platform. Their initial offering has 100+ supporting games, including @OxyaOrigin & @StarAtlas! What really stood out after reading through their website in detail, was that they have team members who have worked at some of the biggest gaming studios, including: EA, Xbox, Rockstar & Ubisoft (to name just a few). That combined knowledge could be exactly what's needed as a major signal for this space. Many people are scratching their heads at the whole Twitter / X 'Portal' phenomenon, but dig a little deeper and you'll see that this is way more than an airdrop through token farming. Sure, it taps into that degen gene within all of us to achieve checkpoints and level up, but look what it has done for the Web3 community as a whole. Users are generally more supportive. Engagement is up. Visibility for projects and artists is up. Not to mention the creativity behind the posts. We've crafted a couple of posts around PortalCoin - meaningful content, I might add. Content for content's sake has never appealed to us, so that's why we're trying to flesh out our own vision, here, and why we see something real beyond the glossy "token" appeal. What I DO care about, is genuine engagement, and the ability to support each other in a frame of the Web3 space that could see our largest entry from Web2 - gaming. If Portal can make the kind of waves they have in the social Web3 space, it would be crazy for projects like ours to ignore the impact they could have in the greater gaming space.
