I compared them pre-release(joke venn diagram i made then) design wise & how both of them really enjoy a difficult battle but yeah after finishing fw they are quite different. Dietrich is like if Louis had actual friends & multiple people he cares about(& loved sweets & cats)

Was thinking about my personal FE tier list before I try and figure out where Fortune's Weave will go. There's definitely parts that qualify for peak for me, and broadly they tend to outweigh some of the 'no thanks' that's stuffed into this massive game.

I don't necessarily disagree, but I do like how Fortune's Weave makes rewinds share the same resource as some very powerful buffs. So you can play more aggressively/faster at the cost of being able to rewind mistakes. Rewinds are still too cheap in the Divine Sand economy tho.

If you can't see how the rewind mechanic inherently makes the *strategy* game less strategic because it enables a playstyle of brute force/careless trial and error then there might be no hope for you Making mistakes has no weight anymore because any mistake can be undone
