This #EnergyAwarenessMonth, MEC is highlighting our past projects & progress in sustainability efforts and renewable energy.
In 2023, MEC secured EVUM funding with our KC Regional Clean Cities coalition to purchase 4 zero-emission electric shuttle buses for KCI Airport's fleet.
A 9-minute ride on a diesel school bus can cause severe wheezing. This is because diesel buses emit harmful exhaust that triggers asthma attacks & wheezing.
In comparison, electric buses produce zero tailpipe emissions and improve health outcomes for youth. #EnergyAwarenessMonth
MEC wishes you a Happy Energy Awareness Month! Each year, the Department of Energy designates October as Energy Awareness Month.
We join this national effort to highlight the importance of energy as a catalyst for resource efficiency, environmental health, & economic vitality.
This September, we hosted the Clean Cities and Communities national workshop in Kansas City—highlighting local wins in the movement towards a clean energy future.
Let’s continue driving forward towards a brighter future for the renewable fuels industries in Kansas and Missouri.
