Idag har jag för andra gången träffat den iranska kronprinsen Reza Pahlavi, den samlande kraften inom oppositionen i Iran. Hans budskap är tydligt: Islamistregimen måste störtas inifrån, av det iranska folket. Men mod räcker inte. Det krävs också organisation, samordning och möjligheter att kommunicera utan att riskera livet. Det iranska folket visar gång på gång sin vilja att kämpa för friheten, trots regimens brutala förtryck. Frågan är vad vi i västvärlden är beredda att göra för att hjälpa dem. Det handlar om att ge den demokratiska oppositionen politiskt stöd, men också om att bryta regimens informationsblockad och säkerställa tillgången till fritt internet. Utan möjlighet att kommunicera och organisera sig försvåras också kampen för ett fritt Iran. EU kan och borde hjälpa iranierna med detta. Men vad som är verkligt anmärkningsvärt är att EU:s utrikeschef Kaja Kallas vägrar att träffa Reza Pahlavi. EU säger sig stå bakom det iranska folkets rätt till frihet och demokrati. Hur går det ihop med att samtidigt avvisa dialog med en av de mest framträdande företrädarna för den demokratiska oppositionen? Därför har jag idag ställt två skriftliga frågor: en till den höga representanten om hennes vägran att träffa Pahlavi och en till kommissionen om vilka konkreta åtgärder den vidtar för att ge iranierna tillgång till fritt internet. Solidaritet med det iranska folket kan inte stanna vid fördömanden och deklarationer. Den måste omsättas i handling. Det iranska folket har redan visat sitt mod. Nu måste Europa visa sitt.

روز اولی که این اثر ترکیب نقاشی و کلاژ را تمام کردم، دلم می‌خواست برایش ویدئویی بسازم. چون فشرده‌ای از تمام درگیری‌های ما با دشمنان ایران است که زیر نقاب ژورنالیسم، دموکراسی‌خواهی و دفاع از حقوق بشر، صدای مردم ایران و حمایت حداکثری مردم از شاهزاده رضا پهلوی را انکار کرده‌اند. متأسفانه مشکلاتی پیش آمد که نشد زودتر آماده‌اش کنم و تقریباً دو ماه طول کشید. ویدئو کمی طولانی شده و هفت دقیقه است. اما فکر می‌کنم گزیدهٔ قابل توجهی است از صدای بلندِ مردم ایران و کارشکنیِ آنها که با ریاکاری و ادعای دفاع از دموکراسی و حق مردم ایران برای تعیین آینده سرنوشت خود، صدای میلیون‌ها ایرانی در داخل و خارج از کشور را نادیده گرفته و آن را انکار و سانسور کرده‌اند و تا اهانت به تنها نماینده مردم ایران، شاهزاده رضا پهلوی، پیش رفته‌اند. این ویدئو را در زادروز شهریار ایران منتشر می‌کنم تا دشمنان ایران بدانند دیگر پنجاه و هفت نیست که ملت ایران، شاه را تنها بگذارد. ما نه تنها اشتباهِ پنجاه و هفت را جبران می‌کنیم، بلکه مطمئن خواهیم شد ایران و ایرانی #دیگر_هرگز در دام تفکر پنجاه و هفتی گرفتار نشود. #جاویدشاه The day I finished this mixed-media artwork, combining painting and collage, I wanted to make a video to accompany it. The piece encapsulates the many battles we have faced against Iran’s adversaries, those who, behind the masks of journalism, democracy advocacy, and human rights activism, have denied the voice of the Iranian people and dismissed the overwhelming support among Iranians for Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi. The video turned out to be a little longer than intended. It is seven minutes. However, I believe this video offers a valuable snapshot of the Iranian people making their voices heard, as well as the efforts to silence them. Those who hypocritically claim to defend democracy and the Iranian people’s right to determine their own future have ignored, denied, and censored the voices of millions of Iranians, both inside and outside the country, going so far as to insult Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, whom millions of Iranians regard as their representative. I am releasing this video on the birthday of Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi, the Shah of Iran, so that Iran’s adversaries understand that this is no longer 1979. This time, the Iranian people will not abandon their Shah. It's finally out ... I was waiting for this one. If you want to understand the Islamic regime and what radicals have in store for Britain I suggest you tune in. I would also recommend you take a second to appreciate what Iranians have gone through. The real story is that of a people who refused erasure. 🇮🇷 RECLAIMING HISTORY: THE TRUTH ABOUT 1979 His Late Majesty Mohammad Reza Shah Pahlavi is remembered for a chilling warning: that should Iran fall, the Middle East would follow, and a great terror would eventually reach the world. Nearly half a century later, those words carry a dreadful resonance. The Shah understood what the world refused to see. For decades, we have been asked to celebrate 1979 as a revolution of liberation. Yet the historical record tells a darker story: a popular upheaval whose outcome was seized by Khomeini's clerics, assisted by elements of the revolutionary Left in what became the Red–Green Alliance. Once power was secured, the clerics turned upon their former allies, imprisoned their opponents and claimed ownership of Iran's future. I believe history owes that betrayal its proper name: a clerical coup carried out in the shadow of a revolution. That is why The Western Front is launching RECLAIMING HISTORY, an ambitious book and documentary project dedicated to examining the forces behind 1979, recovering suppressed testimony and challenging the mythology upon which the Islamic Republic built its power.
