A humming bird came to visit the rain garden, but I didn’t take out my camera in time. Instead, I caught this beauty! Amphion floridensis, Nessus sphinx moth.
Was anyone able to see the vapor trail last night?

Hello spring! Iris versicolor blooming in the MHS back rain garden. Look at the ingenious design of the flower. Pollinators land on the sepal, is directed by the lines and have to crawl under the petals to get the nectar, while brushing against the stigma and stamen inside!
