The MichAuto team joins the automotive industry in mourning the passing of Neil DeKoker. Read a statement from Executive Director @glennrstevens:
"Neil was first and foremost a family man. His love for and dedication to his family defined who he was. Beyond that, he dedicated his life's work to the automotive industry, and he represented the very best of it.
Over the course of his career, Neil worked across OEMs, suppliers, industry associations, startups, government, and education. Few people have experienced and influenced as many facets of our industry as he did. In every role, he left organizations better than he found them and earned the respect of colleagues throughout the automotive community.
Neil was a remarkable leader and an even better person. He combined knowledge, humility, and a passion for helping others succeed. His impact on our industry will be felt for years to come, and those of us who knew him are better for having had the opportunity to work with him and call him a friend."
The MichAuto Michigan Automotive Roadmap is grounded in an important principle: the future of Michigan’s automotive industry should be shaped with the people and organizations that live that future every day.

Michigan’s signature industry has reinvented itself again and again since the first vehicles rolled off the moving assembly line in 1913. More than a hundred years later, the state remains North America’s center of automotive innovation.
Protecting and growing that leadership will take industry, labor, education, government, and economic development leaders working from the same strategy toward the same goal.

MichAuto's Paul Corbett and Director of Resource Development and Engagement, Lauren Hutchison, attended the annual MotorCities Heritage Awards and luncheon, where three awardees were recognized for their dedication to preserving Michigan's automotive history. The event also celebrated Michigan Auto Heritage Day, which was officially recognized with a legislative proclamation.
Honoring the innovators, leaders, and milestones that built the state's automotive legacy helps strengthen awareness of the industry's economic impact, inspires the next generation of talent, and reinforces Michigan's position as the global center of automotive and mobility leadership.
MichAuto's Director of Strategic Initiatives, Jenny Orletski-Dehne, joined industry leaders, including MichAuto Advisory Board Members Rose Bellanca and Justine Johnson, at MichAuto investor @annarborspark's a2Tech360 Mobility Summit, where stakeholders explored the trends and technologies shaping the future of mobility.
As a sponsor of a2Tech360's Student Tech Trek, Orletski-Dehne welcomed students and highlighted the exciting pathways available across the automotive and mobility industry.
